Made a reservation while in Quito before traveling to Cuenca. Upon arrival, stood waiting for the person at the desk to speak with me. First, he had to get off the phone. While standing waiting, a delivery person arrived and he conducted business like I was invisible. When he did address me, I was escorted upstairs by a maid. She attempted to show me the TV but there were no English stations as far as she could tell so I was told there was only one that showed movies. I am a mature woman but I wasn´t interested in a room on the third floor walkup and no TV in English. When I asked about a change to a lower floor I was told there wasn´t anything available. This is a dump and these people need to clean up theír game. It´s cheap but not good. I paid for one night, spent a total of 3 minutes in the room, and left. If u want to have an enjoyable stay in Cuenca, don´t stay here.

“Don´t go here, the personel stole from our room!”

While we were having breakfast (they write down the numers of rooms having breakfast) personel stole 2 (video)cameras and 2 ipods from a bag in our room wich was packed for ingapirca. The manager was an .... and did´nt accept any responsibilty and even dared to blame us. No compensation was offered, not even the night for free. From tourist info we heard that this had happened before in this hotel! So stay here on your own risk!

The hotel is located in the central part of colonial Cuenca, 2 blocks away from the main plaza. 20$ a night gets you a private double. The rooms are well lit, basic but clean. Showers have good water pressure and hot water at any time of the day. Cable TV, free internet and a continental breakfast is included.
The staff are friendly and the hotel also offers other services such as tours, laundry, etc.
