We stayed at Le Parc from 12/29/11- 1/2/12 and on 1/9/12 on a stopover back to the States. We were in 802 and 502 respectively and our only real complaint was hallway noise in 802 and street noise in 502.

The doors to the hallway are not well soundproofed and we could easily hear guests or staff talking right through the closed door. Luckily they weren't very loud and it wasn't a major problem. In 502, obviously closer to the street, the vehicle noise was substantial through the windows until well into the evening. The hotel is near the incoming flight path to the airport but the noise from the aircraft was never that obvious when indoors.

We travel quite a bit and noise can often be an issue, so, we travel with earplugs which solved the problem both times.

The rooms are modern; beautiful and well-appointed. There’s a very large supermarket (SuperMaxi) and Quito’s largest Mall within walking distance. Both are incredibly large even by US standards. Cabs are readily available though we often walked and always felt safe. The Le Parc is in a major business/ financial/ government agency district with many tall, beautiful buildings with the expected professionally dressed day occupants.

The staff was always very helpful and most speak English passably. Our limited Spanish was appreciated. The shuttle to/ from the airport is free and for both of our incoming flights, it was nice to see the professionally-dressed, friendly and courteous driver waiting their holding a placard with our name upon it. Even our 5:00am departure shuttle was exactly as arranged and was once again in their new SUVs which were very clear and roomy.

The same cars/ drivers will take you to your non-airport destinations, as well. They seemed a bit more expensive, but, they’re worth it and our highest cost was never more than ten dollars before tip.

We would stay there again… we’d just have our earplugs, as always!

Average Hotel with a higher than average price tag - used as a base for Galapagos Tours - perhaps the only reason it is busy - not a great location unless it is for airport transfers - ok but would not return.

The hotel is very nicely appointed, the rooms are big and beautiful, the staff is friendly and helpful and the breakfast is quite good, but there are two reasons I will never stay here again.

The first is noise. There is a nightclub on top of the building and you can hear the bass thunder through the frame of the building. Our room was on the 4th floor and I was told by other guests that it was much worse on the upper floors. Regular street noise was also plenty audible in the room, everything from honking horns to car alarms.

The second is that I was charged $60 for two local phone calls. That's just unforgiveable. I looked for a rate card, or any information on phone calls, before I dialed and found nothing in the room. I had to make these calls so went ahead despite my better judgement.

Massive rooms and funky decor. A little out of the way, but taxis are very cheap and the hotel also has its own car and driver. Excellent breakfast.
