“Clean Cheap Comfy Friendly”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 July 2011

clean enough, $35/night, basic but free wi-fi, all staff very friendly and most speak english, very close to the new town (club pub restaurants) area but still quiet at night and is only a short taxi fare to old town area. We would stay here again if budget backpacking. The cafe out front is very good and cheap - value for money.

Room Tip: up top at back

“Basic”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 March 2011

This hotel is clean but basic. If you are interested in a bed, bathroom and little else for cheap this is what you want. If you are interested in luxury travel look elsewhere.

“Great place for a stop over between flights”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 January 2011

This is a very good hotel to catch between flights. Rooms are absolutely no frill but clean. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The hotel is close to the airport and is known by the Taxi drivers. No restaurant but only a short distance from several neat places. For convenience to airport and price, you can't beat it.

“Excellent stay at heart of city”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 December 2010

I arrived and they did not have my reservation. That did not worry me since they got me to a room. The room was large, TV, and shower only. I stayed there two nights. The staff spoke broken English, but I used my Spanish. They were VERY helpful and accomidating. For the price and the location, it was worth the expense.
The hotel has a place for cars as well. The hotel is divided into the main hotel and a walkway to the back of the hotel that is partially covered. WIFI is available, but not in all rooms.

“Very pleasantly surprised!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 May 2010

I was extremely surprised and happy with the quality of this hotel. After spending a week in Peru in rough lodging, I didn't have high expectations at all. The hotel is in the new part of the city, about 20 mins from the airport. The hotel is a little hidden, sandwiched between two little restaurants. The older gentleman at the desk spoke no English, but was more than helpful explaining where to go to eat. This is an older hotel, large wooden staircase, and rooms that seem to be out of the 80s. For the money, however, I had two full beds and my own bathroom; a rarity in this part of the world. Wifi was free, but the reception in the rooms can be fuzzy. Bathrooms are far from luxurious, but are all you really need. There is a tiny tv in the room that barely works, but who goes to Quito to watch tv? The street on the weekends can be pretty loud since there are quite a few bars and clubs down a few blocks away. If you do go out late at night on the weekends, it's not a very safe area. At around midnight, the gate is locked and you must buzz in to enter the hotel. There was a great pizza place about a block away that was quite tasty (can't remember the name), as well as other restaurants nearby. Taxis pass by frequently so transportation around the city is pretty easy. The desk attendant had me wait inside with my luggage on the last day, while he went out, flagged a taxi and negotiated a $5 fare to the airport. I have to say, there are no real frills with this place, but that was one of the most decent things any hotel has ever done.
