Stayed before and after our Galapagos trip with GAP.

Lady that runs it is very friendly and helpful. had 2 different rooms - 1 on the courtyard outside and 1 upstairs in the main building. The one upstairs was much bigger and more grand, but both were fine.

Streets outside don't feel the safest at night - but that is the same anywhere in quito I think. Hotel is secure with buzzer entry gate.

Free internet.

I also, like some reviewers, stayed at this hotel for a GAP Adventures trip. The staff, particularly the hotel manager, are very helpful and very friendly. The hotel is clean, the beds are super comfortable and there is free internet (WIFI works in some rooms but not the ones that are farther away from the center of the complex). Bathrooms are pretty nice, although I did come from a hostel before this so I might have been easily impressed (was excited just to have consistent hot water). They have smaller double rooms (two twin beds in a standard size room) and very very spacious triple rooms (two double beds and a twin). Breakfast was standard (eggs, toast, coffee and tea, fruit juice and fruit).

I stayed here before our trip to the Galapagos with GAP Adventures (we booked the "Budget Tour"). The English-speaking staff are wonderful and accommodating. Location wise it's 5-10 blocks from the city center if you're interested in grabbing a bite to eat or seeing the town at night. Breakfast was fresh fruit, toast with jam/butter, eggs, and some fresh fruit juice. Rooms are spacious --- this used to be the office of British Embassy in Ecuador. Free wi-fi available throughout the hotel.
