I stayed here many times during a 2.5 month visit to Ecuador as a volunteer. If you volunteer with Jatun Sacha they will give you a 20% discount to stay here. I stayed in a single room which was nice. It had a private bathroom, TV with satellite, and a comfortable bed. I had also stayed in the group room with 10 people and that was not as pleasant as someones alarm went off at 2am and they did not turn it off for about 20 minutes until we all woke him up. I prefer sharing rooms of 4 maximum. The bathrooms are clean.
The best part of my stay here is the internet and the breakfast. There is free internet and the breakfast has great selection and the juice is very fresh.
One thing to know when staying here is that you will need to speak spanish as the very nice lady who runs the hostel does not speak english. You can get by with pointing at the sheet she has for rooms but you won't be able to communicate too well.
The location is great. It is right in La Mariscal Sucre district. It is very close to a restaurant called Aladdins and I highly recommend eating here. The pop is only $1 and the sanduce mixto is amazing. You are about a 5-10 minute walk from the main square.
