The hotel is reasonable, much simpler than the other Howard Johnson's Ecuador,
In the entrance hall has a good impression of the hotel, but when you enter the rooms, I realized that are older rooms than I expected,
Although Quito is a cold city, I felt lack of control of temperature,
The staff are very helpful and polite.
I have no complaint of cleaning the rooms, but do not let praise.
Consider an average hotel, good but not unforgettable.

We were so lucky as on arrival out taxi driver could speak English and after suggestions from the Hotel staff - we "hired" him for an excellent tourist view and resume of this city endeing up at a restuarant that overlooked the city.

My 2 tweens & I stayed here on our way from Cotacachi to Canoa because it is comfortable and they allow us to store our luggage there (Lugging 6 bags of heavy luggage around anywhere is unpleasant). It is convenient to both the bus & air terminals and the staff is 99% wonderful (always some jerk no matter when you travel).
Although it is more expensive than we are accustomed when traveling, it is no more expensive than other hotels we have visited in Quito which are considerably less suitable.
We found we were able to communicate with the staff in English & our broken Espaniol and whenever a communication breakdown occured they had an English speaker present immediately.

One suggestion: reserve online because they tack a nearly $20 fee if you register at the hotel. Beware of some of the online agents as they do not allow changes in schedule or cancellations. Book directly through HJ online and you should no problems.
HJ was the only establishment in Ecuador (where internet was available) where I had serious internet problems but they remedied that problem as quickly as they could.

This is THE hotel we will use while in Quito.

We spent a week at this fabulous hotel. The moment our taxi arrived, someone was at the door to help us with our two very young children (3 years old and 6 months old). The lobby always had complementary fresh juice and cookies and our room was very clean and comfortable. Be aware that my husband had to mostly speak Spanish with the front desk as the employees' English was not the best. We did, however, received an excellent tour guide/driver for the week from the front desk. Be sure to ask for Senor Nelson! Also, the hotel is between two very busy streets so it is a bit noisy at night, but everything else was so great, it's worth packing your ear plugs.
