“Wonderful Hideaway!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 January 2012

Casa Aliso was a truly fabulous B+B in a quiet and apparently safe area of Quito. We were collected from the airport by an English speaking driver which was superb after our long haul flight from the UK and ensured we made it to our destination (a lot of taxi drivers did not know where Casa Aliso was and it is very important to take a map with you when you go out showing the exact location of the B+B!)

Our room was huge with two comfy double beds and lovely wooden furniture. The en suite bathroom offered big fluffy towels and a selection of toiletries and dressing gowns / slippers were also provided which made lounging around a joy. Being comparable in price to the big hotels Casa Aliso was a really lovely introduction to the Ecuadorian homes and people and felt very homely. The downstairs rooms in the B+B were filled with sofas and armchairs for guest use and during our stay we were treated to open fires built especially for us. Each day we ate a wonderful breakfast of fruit, omelettes and local coffee and took coffee/tea and cookies after our days activities.

The reception staff and kitchen staff were incredibly polite and always on hand to help.

I would recommend this B+B to anyone who wants to pay for excellent service and something a bit special.

“It's all true!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 November 2011

All the wonderful reviews at Casa Aliso are on the mark. The B&B is located on a quiet street in a lovely residential neighborhood, yet still easily accessible from major attractions via taxi. Don Patricio was not only helpful and professional, his easy charm and friendly nature made you feel at home. He could not do enough to make sure we enjoyed our stay, even calling tax cabs and settling on a price before we even head out the door (taxi's are surprisingly inexpensive in Quito). Don Patricio also recommended excellent restaurants which was especially appreciated since it was our first time in Quito.

“The best B&B in Quito”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 October 2011

This is a fabulous B&B, run by a a small but dedicated staff who never stop smiling and are ever helpful. The rooms are simple, but of good size, and very very clean. The hot water can be tricky to get going, and we could not let the water out of our bath for some reason, but these are small objections to a really happy and welcoming place. They serve an excellent breakfast, with smoked meats, eggs on demand, a huge variety of fruit, plus cereals and bread, just what you need before tackling the steep streets of Quito.

Room Tip: Upstsirs room is advisable.

“Can't do better than this charming inn.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 September 2011

Comfortable former home dating approximately back to the 1920s. Manager and staff were very accomodating. Delicious breakfast with a good variety of choices. A lovely patio was included with our room. The manager served us cookies, hot chocolate and cocoa tea when we arrived. We returned from dinner to find a fire in the fireplace near a small library of books. A wonderful place to relax and enjoy with it's wonderful art and old world charm.

Room Tip: If you want a patio, you will need to request it.
