I'm not a hostal person. This was only the second hostal i've ever stayed in. I'm a sheraton/marriott person. That being said, the room was $20 USD for a double bed private room. The room was a good size, the bed was plenty comfy and there was a TV in the room (we never used it though). There were plenty of bathrooms. The common area had a nice kitchen, couches, book exchange, trapeze, and free coffee/tea.

This place would have been amazing if I was younger and didn't have as much OCD about cleanliness. I really wish I was blond because then there would have at least been a chance that some of the million hairs stuck to my bedspread could have been mine. Sheets seemed clean, but they def haven't changed/washed comforters in a long while.

Casa Verde Limon is located in the ideal part of Valpo and there is a square right outside the hotel with good local music and people hanging out. You can't get a better location.

great, spacious rooms, good kitchen, and a trapeze in the middle. Fab location near the historic centre, helpful staff. Only minor complaint is that it was a bit cold in the building in November due to the very high ceilings and lack of heating.

A really eclectic and beautiful hostel. rooms are clean with lovely decor. showers lack pressure and are not super hot but the warmth in communal areas and atmosphere make up for this. the staff are bilingual, helpful and generous. although the hostel has a bit of echo (you can hear other travelers in communal areas), this is an oasis in the busy area of Valparaiso.

When i booked a bed at Casa Verde Limon, I reminded myself that I should not expect too much. The price was very reasonable (US$10). But the owner/managers take such an interest in their hostel, one feels that one is really a guest, not just a paying customer in this house that is both the home of owners and the storefront for a very classy design business. The pictures of the inside do not really show how imaginative the decor is. Very clean too. OK, the shower was difficult to regulate. I was very pleased with my 4 day stay.
