“Beautiful, artistic home away from home!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 January 2012

I cannot say enought good things about this place, but I will try anyway...there is incredible artwork tucked in every corner of this place made by the owner herself, Panchy, a multi-talented artist that is upbeat and fabulous to take an art class with (offered through he hostel). All the staff is extremely helpful and personable...I immediately felt like part of the family here. There is no need to go out for dinner here, it's best to make something to share with all the wonderful and interesting international travelers his place brings in. The location is great...walking distance to literally everything and also a large SuperLider market. I also rented a bike for the day and went newel to Concon...a lovely idea for a sunny afternoon.

If you want a homey place to stay with plenty of inspiring artwork and just plain good vibes overall, this is the place for you. I've stayed in many hostels across Europe and Souh America and I can confidently say this is not only the most unique, but also the place Ive felt most comfortable. I stayed on twice as long as I originally planned and would have stayed longer if possible! Build in as many days as you can here, that is, if you are the open-minded, creative type!

“Amazing location, better than average hostel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 November 2011

The location of this place is what makes it, well situated in the middle of amazing Valpo on a good street with plenty going on and some of the best Graf I town. A little far of a walk from the bus we would recommend shelling out on a taxi to the hostel.

The hostel itself is inside a cool old Valpo building, and is quirky enough to be authentic Valpo. The kitchen is too small but the communal areas are fin and two pcs for use with free internet. Ourroom was clean and spacious and good TV reception. Not that you will want to watch tv with so much to do on your doorstep, and especially inValpo " Apaga la tele vive tu vida". The toilets are not so private, next to the dining area, so u might consider a room with a private.

“Nice hostel in Valparaíso”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 November 2011

The hostel is located in the center of Valparaíso, and has an interesting architecture (high ceilings and artsy decorations). We stayed in a double room which was quite dark and smelt a bit like mold - there was only a small window that did not open. Other than that it's a clean and quiet place, ideal to explore Valparaíso and the surroundings. It's reasonably priced and staff is friendly and helpful (we got our laundry done there and the clothes were folded!). Recommended.

“Original, friendly and clean ... and cheap”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 June 2011

We enjoyed the way this place is build: the high ceilings and windows. The location is great too: one flight of stairs takes you into the center while downhill is the main market square. Moreover the staff is friendly and the bathroom is clean, what more can you wish for?

“Quirksville, Chile”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 March 2011

Chile is one of the quirkiest countires in South America and Valpariaso is one of its quirkiest cities. All of this is good news for one who seeks places out of the ordinary. The Verde Limon is situated on one of the many hills in Valpo, on the pretty Plaza Descanso (aptly named for relaxation). I can see why people might find that the communal area can be noisy; I was lucky when there recently and the only noise was from a few party-goers outside, and otherwise found it a good place to meet people. The house is in traditional Valpo style, with bright colours and airy rooms (possibly a bit cold in winter). It's also agreeably shabby around the edges but quite clean; use of the kitchen is a bonus. The staff are pleasant and helpful, and I would be glad to stay there again.
