This hostal is one of Lonely Planets top picks, and for us, kinda lived up to expectations. When we arrived we were met by a very friendly host, who spoke great English and showed us around the place. The lounge area is very nice, with cofy sofas, a tv and a big wood burner for the colder nights. There’s an outside space that’s great for late afternoon lazing and reasonable wi-fi (although it only covers the center hostal space).
On the negative side, I found the double bed (in the green room) very uncomfortable. The mattress was probably just too old. The walls were pretty thin, as I could hear a cacophony of snorers every night. And, even for Chile, it was expensive (three nights in a double was a staggering $180).
