The Casa Kreyenberg is up one of the many hills in Valparaiso - which makes it a little tough to get to with your luggage but it does provide a good view. Like many places in Valparaiso the hotel wall is covered in a big mural so its easy to find again! The B&B is comfortable enough - the room is very basic as is the bathroom but the host is very friendly and the breakfasts are really great. The house does smell of cats however - there are many of them around and its always a bit of a challenge keeping them out of the rooms but the cats are clean, and it just adds to the eccentrictity and charm of the place

This B&B is very relaxed. You're staying in someone's home so you get to find out a lot more what it's like to live in the city. Dorm rooms are good size with very comfy beds, good lockers and good breakfast. Nice views over the city. Run by very friendly guy. A home from home.

Perfect after long days travelling. I stayed here two years ago and it was the first place i stayed that I wanted to write a review for. I've finally got round to doing it. The house is beautiful, cosy, comfortable, clean rooms with spectacular views, charming bathroom, delicious breakfast, friendly hosts. Overall it was a place of relaxation and charm and it fills me with fond memories. I strongly recommend it.

Overview:

This is a hostel that is run by a nice young couple. The hostel is located up on the hills overlooking the town. It has some nice views from the windows and is reasonably quiet. The owners really make you feel at home and do enjoy spending time with their guests should you wish to indulge in conversation. They have a number of cats that are part of the household. They let their guests use their computer for email.

The good:

1. Nice operators.
2. Good deal for the area.
3. Reasonably quiet.
4. Plenty of hot water for showers.
5. Breakfast included - but not extensive.
6. Nice stay.

The bad - not too much.

1. I love cats, so I enjoyed them. If you are alergic, or do not like cats, then I would look somewhere else.
2. This is a hostel. You have a common sleeping area, with a common shower down the hall. There was one room for one or two people, and I took this for I can snore and did not want to wake anyone.
3. The hostel was reasonably clean like most homes, but not like a 5 star hotel. So if you want something sterile, then look for a room at $300 a night in town.
4. A little bit of a walk away from the center of town, but this can be a blessing at night when you want to sleep. About 15 minute walk to center of town.

My take on this place:

I liked this hostel, and would stay here again. It is a good price, and located in a nice area. Take a look at the pictures to get an idea for yourself.
