“Good value for price, although a bit old fashioned”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 May 2011

We stayed here for a few days in May. The place was quite empty and it felt as if it had known better times. We were offered a very big room with a nice and confortable bed that was probably the highlight of our stay. The shared bathroom was OK, decently clean. The shared kitchen was pretty basic but functional and clean. Breakfast is not included in the price and, for what we could gather, not worth paying the extra 2.000 CLP. Finally, the staff were correct and nice, but not overwhelmingly enthusiasts.

Also, it is close to bus station (2 blocks away) but a short 10 minute walk to the touristic center. We left with mixed feelings. I don't regret having stayed here but if I was to return to Valparaiso I would probably check out some other place.

“Everything you could want for a homely stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 April 2011 via mobile

Stayed at el rincon a few days ago after a stay in Santiago in a room like a shoe box so to get a beautiful large double room was great to us. The building is lovely and just enough away from the main road to give you peace and quiet. Breakfast is included and wifi so great bonus. The german lady that checked us in and helped us as our Spanish was very helpful and friendly. No bad points here!

“Nice building and good service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 February 2010

We had a double room with private bath (and free cable tv) and were very satisfied. The owner was very friendly and gave us al the information we needed for our stay in Valparaiso. The room was spacious and the old but well kept buidling gave it a special feeling. It is in walking distance of the busterminal and the interesting parts of the town were very easy to be reached by walking or bus. They had free and fast internet. There was free kitchen use too.

“Excellent location and value for budget minded”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 December 2009

We stayed here a few nights before our cruise. Four blocks from the bus terminal and 5 blocks from the cruise terminal. One can not get any closer than this! We had a spacious room with private fascilities, breakfast, internet for an unbeleavable price. We booked the accommodation from Australia and were very pleasantly surprised when we got here. The owner gave us a run-down of places to visit and not to visit. The breakfast is adequate and more than many Wingers would get back , at home. We felt very secure in a home type atmosphere. The staff is extremely helpfull, yet they do not speak any English. We speak five languages and none of them is Spanish and we got on very well. If you come from the part of the world where you think the whole universe (and all other gallaxies) speak english (with an American accent) than go to Florida to wake up!
Place, Location, Price... you can not beat it! If you want something like you have at home - STAY HOME!

“Poor staff let down an otherwise good B&B”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 October 2009

A rude night watchman deemed it appropriate to wake a number of guests because one guest discretely brought a Chilean girl home. Banging on a door in the early hours of the morning and repeating the word 'woman' in a loud voice disturbed a number of guests including families with small children. A completely unnecessary and indiscrete response to a small indiscretion. Ruined my sleep and the sleep of others.
