I had no problem with my reservation. I've done it by e-mail and sent the number of a credit card to assure the reservation. Once arriving in the hotel I simply handled the e-mail to the guy in the front desk and in a little while I was in my room.
The hotel is really old. You can realize that when you take one of the lifts or even in the rooms. Considering that, the rates are quite high. I paid US$ 65 for a double room but the desk rates are up to US$ 75. Lobby is so-so but fortunately it has free wi-fi. Breakfast is poor especially considering the price you pay for a night. Moreover, if you're a late waker you'll lose breakfast as some minutes past 9am they are already shutting everything down in the restaurant.
Location, on the other hand, is really good. You have some bars and restaurants nearby and a public park (Cerro Santa Lucia) aside the hotel. Subway is not so far and several touristic spots can be reached walking a little while. There's also four museums close to the hotel that you can reach walking.
A good service they offer is pre-paid taxis. It`s a good way not to worry being conned by cab drivers. The PC available, on the other hand as old as a floppy disk drive - it actually has one of those...
