We stayed here 10 days while at a conference in Santiago. The price was good, the apartments are just fine, and the location great. It's in a very safe, clean part of the city and there are many restaurants close by, as is a large supermarket and the metro.

I can recommend Miguel Torres (about 5 mins walk) for dinner if you are prepared to spend a little more to get some great food.

The owners of Santa Magdalena are very friendly and helpful, as are all the staff.

I would stay there again.

i stayed in this little aparthotel for a week when visiting Santiago for a conference. I could work away in peace a few days, do grocery shopping in the local supermarket (big one near-by), gazing at the amazing mountain-view from the top-floor corner-flat (with two balconies, which in winter i couldn't enjoy that much). The flat had a little kitchenette, a room and a bedroom, which made it all very cosy. Also one could hear no noises to the bedroom from the hallway. The internet connection was great, although wired. The service was great. The staff were really helpful and super friendly, although the cleaning staff of course didn's speak English we survived.
The neighbourhood is very safe, not that exciting, though, but the connections downtown were excellent with the metro. There are also good restaurants and cafes (and copy shops, gyms in the side streets and fancy shops on the main streets) in the neighbourhood, though as this is a business district they are mainly open for lunch. I had long walks in this "new Santiago" both day and night, and felt really safe.
I'd definitely be coming back again, if I ever have the chance and would recommend this as the quiet base, when visiting Santiago for little bit longer - even for a romantic get-away.

Location is great, room is tidy, but the location is very noisy. If you want a good night's sleep, don't stay here!

Extremely accommodating service and hospitality. Matias and his staff were very helpful with making reservations and giving us suggestions. The apart-hotel is in a fantastic location. Only a few blocks from the subway and right around the corner from great bars, restaurants and shops. It's also only a block from the supermarket which is perfect considering the apartment has a fully functioning kitchen. The pool on the roof is small and quaint but a perfect way to end the day. The 1 bedroom apartment was comforable, though a bit small (though much larger than just a regular hotel room).

ps- you can take the purple line on the subway to the last stop and arrive just minutes from Concha y Toro. Don't bother hiring a driver or a tour b/c it's cheap and easy to get to with public transportation.

Skip Valpariso, it's a very dirty, poor man's version of the Amalfi Coast, not worth the trip. If you've already seen the Pacifice Ocean also skip Vina del Mar. Not worth it. Instead, head into the Andes Mts. for some hiking.

Restaurants: Astrid y Gaston - very good, but very pricey. Not sure it's worth it. Other local restaurants are much better.
