We first used the Santa Magdalena in 2006 and liked it a lot. Hence on our recent trip it was an obvious choice again. Prices in Santiago have gone up a lot in that time, and this is an expensive area. However as other reviewers have noted, it's easy to get to, handy for supermarkets and restaurants and safe. The management have a number of apartments on different floors. We stayed in two on this trip; eleventh and seventh floors both with two bathrooms and both were quads. Both were comfortable, clean and visited daily by maid service. Towels were provided and were good quality. Showers and baths were good; plenty of hot water, but you need to be slim to fit through the shower screen in the smaller bathroom! One apartment was in slightly better shape than the other; there were a few cracked tiles in one bathroom and a bit of money should be spent in redecorating and refreshing. The other was perfect, and overall the apartments are decent value. Street noise was not too bad.. you're quite high up. The roof top pool was nice, but COLD!

As in 2006 we found the office staff to be very friendly, helpful and efficient, with at least two staff speaking excellent English. The office was open very long hours, and they have a computer for guest use if you have no laptop of your own.

Nearby good restaurants: Elkika near Tobalaba metro (other side of Av Providencia) and Liguria (between Providencia and 11 de Septiembre).

Located in an upscale business district with metro nearby, the apartments were clean and nicely furnished. Washing machine is a great convenience to have on a trip. Sole drawback was ac only in living room but place is fairly cool in summer anyway and clothes dry almost immediately. Really a pleasant place.

My wife and I stayed at Santa Magdalena Apartments for one week between Christmas and New Year's eve. At first, our suite apartment struck us as a bit too small, but over time this turned out not to be a problem at all as it is intelligently laid out (except for a couple of overlarge items of furniture). There is an air conditioner in the bedroom (but not in the living room). There is plenty of closet space and the kitchen area is outfitted with everything you need to prepare simple meals. There is a nice little terrace with a mix of city and mountain views, as well as a rooftop pool. The standards of housekeeping were beyond reproach and, as a bonus, you get a satisfying continental breakfast delivered to your room every morning as part of the deal. The place is run in a very professional manner and the staff are unfailingly polite and hospitable.

Location could not be better, in a little (and little-known) street tucked away near Avenida El Bosque Norte, just a short walk from lots of restaurants, bars etc. As others have mentioned, the Tobalaba subway station is also close by.

In brief, we would recommend Santa Magdalena Apartments to anyone wishing to have more of a "home away frome home" feel in Santiago than you'd get at a regular hotel. The only people who may want to avoid it are those who absolutely demand to have lots acreage in their accomodation.

We stayed here 10 days while at a conference in Santiago. The price was good, the apartments are just fine, and the location great. It's in a very safe, clean part of the city and there are many restaurants close by, as is a large supermarket and the metro.

I can recommend Miguel Torres (about 5 mins walk) for dinner if you are prepared to spend a little more to get some great food.

The owners of Santa Magdalena are very friendly and helpful, as are all the staff.

I would stay there again.
