“Stay elsewhere”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 February 2011

We stayed here (sadly) 3 nights at the end of our 3-week tour of Argentina/Chile with Adventures Abroad. There is only one good thing to say about the hotel: the front desk gave us the name of a department store so we could buy a replacement for my husband's broken suitcase. Otherwise the front desk was inept. My husband tried to call a friend on the house phone and was left hanging on the phone by the front desk. He hung up and called back and was given the wrong number. He had to go down to the front desk and insist on the correct number before getting it. This hotel goes beyond deferred maintenance. The carpet was filthy. The rooms were cramped, with almost no place to put the suitcases. The towels were one step from becoming rags. The bathroom tub was a danger without anything on the bottom to prevent one from slipping. The air conditioning system didn't work. Our first morning's breakfast was a nightmare: in addition to our small group, a very large tour group was there and there was inadequate staff to clear tables or replenish the breakfast buffet (which wasn't bad). The noise from the elevator reverberated throughout the hotel. The area near the pool is overgrown with weeds and the furniture was dirty and dusty. The hotel is located near the main avenue and that was a decided plus.

“Hotel with excellent location, accommodations need refurbishing.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 January 2011

We stayed at the Providencia Panamericana for a few days before and after a tour to southern Chile. The hotel location is great, room are old fashioned and need refurbishing. Air conditioning is not working properly since it turns off automatically at some time during the night. Breakfast self service is just basic not as usual for a three star hotel. Staff is ok, don't speak portuguese.

“Clean, tidy and in a good location”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 January 2011

We stayed here at the end of a two month trip around middle and southern South America. Service was good, the room was clean and there was no street noise. The restaurant service was good, the food was quite good and well priced. We booked a day trip using the Concierge, and used the provided computers for internet access. All worked well except on the last day the shower would not run anything above luke warm. This was however not a real problem and we did report it so that it could be fixed for the next patrons.

“Loved this hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 February 2010

This hotel was much cheaper than the large hotels of the city, and clean, comfortable, and cool. We stayed here twice and both times had great rooms. The breakfast was also better than at most other hotels we stayed at during the trip.

“nothing special but comparatively cheap”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 July 2009

I had to stay overnight and needed to find a cheaper alternative than the airport hotel. So I landed this one, for about half the price of the airport holiday inn. There was a relatively "ok" restaurant on the second floor, although it is nothing special. Other than that the room was small and the staff was somewhat disorganized--although friendly. Overall the hotel was nothing special. But for the 88 some bucks it was cheaper than most comparable deals around.
