“A very nice hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 September 2011

I was there for couple days and got 2 different room on my request, asked for a high floor instead low one, so I got another one.

Internet is free, good quality and fast.
Breakfast was included and got a standar buffet but with natural mango juice that i loved it.

Room as clean, beatiful and OK.

Good location in Las Condes, near to metro, bus stop.

Prices are average for all other hotels around there.

Front Desk stuff is 1A, best people I ever met in a hotel, helpful and nice.

I will rate it 4/5. Recommended.

Room Tip: Room at corners are bigger but A/C will take longer to cool it and it is bad on summer.

“Never ever... Dirty, terrible service and only prepaid card for Internet (unless you are in the lobby)”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 July 2011

Among the worst hotel experiences I ever had.
I arrived to Santiago at 2 a.m. and to the hotel around 3 a.m. (I don't need to mention that I was exhausted and in desperate need of good rest to get to the office later that day).
Reception was dark and door was close, my taxi driver was nice enough to ask me to wait in the care and he went to check the entrance and look for a bell or something. Person on duty at reception was not really happy to have a guest arriving at that time.
When I got to the room, I wanted to get a quick shower to relax and try to sleep for few hours, but I found a dirty dark brown mark in the shower which I decide not to investigate further. I call the reception and was told the hotel was full and should wait until afternoon when they could check for an available room – No shower for me.
Before 8 a.m. I tried to connect to Internet and when I asked for a code I was told that I had to buy a prepaid Internet card to be able to use their access!!! After some complains, I was told that I could try the WiFi connection in the lobby, which was free – Still no new room, and would not dare to shower with the dirty mark.
Couple of hours later, when I was able to contact my office, they called back the hotel and the manager on duty contacted me. She asked me when I wanted to move to my new room, I told her what I was told when I initially contacted the reception and she said the hotel had rooms available and did not know why I was not given another room right away when I complained.
New room looked cleaned, but I was already feeling uncomfortable with the service, and the idea of have to buy prepaid Internet cards was not very pleasant knowing that during this biz trip I would need to work after the office and Internet access would be a must, so I checked out and moved to a place around the corner.

“A very satisfactory hotel stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 February 2011

We spent three enoyable nights at the modern Hotel Rugendas. Pleasant, slightly rustic style room with extremely comfortable bed. Air conditioning excellent on first night, poor during second night, OK on third night. Breakfast very acceptable¨with fresh fruit, cereal, toast and scrambled eggs. Excellent location in Golf /Condes area, many restaurants in easy reach. Lunch (we had pasta) in hotel restaurant was fine, we were short of time and the service was excellent. Staff, with one exception, extremely helpful.

“The people here are the greatest!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 January 2011

We will always remember our ten wonderful days at Hotel Rugendas in the sophisticated Las Condes area of Santiago de Chile. The hotel is very modern and immaculately clean. Our room had a very comfortable king size bed. I opened the room's many windows to enjoy the lovely, tree lined streets of Las Condes and the bird songs each morning. Rugendas has everything a North American would want in a hotel, but the staff here is why we can’t wait to return. We got to know Victor Rodriguez at the front desk, and Luis Pavez in the restaurant-bar and they are as charming and helpful as any hotel staff we have ever experienced. The Rugendas is very near Metro stop El Golf, Teatro Municapal de Las Condes and some of Chile’s best restaurants. The breakfast is European, but it is much more than rolls and cheese. There are always freshly cooked scrambled eggs (real ones), thinly sliced fried ham, an abundance of fresh fruit and fruit juices, dulce de leche and jams, in addition to their very delicious meats and cheeses and great coffee. We looked forward to breakfast every day, and usually a quiet cocktail with fabulous salmon ahumado in the evening. A very modern, well maintained exercise facility and computers with internet access are complimentary, and for a small charge you can have wi-fi in your room. Visit them at www.rugendas.cl.

“Decent hotel in good location”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 December 2010

I stayed here for 10 night for $150 a night, in two different rooms. Both rooms were spacious, nice, and clean. Staff was polite and helpful. Good location in quiet neighborhood, close to subway station.

On the negative side, service at front desk and breakfast buffet was at times a bit sluggish. It seemed they sometimes just didn't have enough people at the front desk and the check-in process was inefficient. Bathroom tiles could use some Tilex. And the rate seemed a little high for this hotel, but I do not know the typical rates in Santiago.
