“Never ever... Dirty, terrible service and only prepaid card for Internet (unless you are in the lobby)”
Among the worst hotel experiences I ever had.
I arrived to Santiago at 2 a.m. and to the hotel around 3 a.m. (I don't need to mention that I was exhausted and in desperate need of good rest to get to the office later that day).
Reception was dark and door was close, my taxi driver was nice enough to ask me to wait in the care and he went to check the entrance and look for a bell or something. Person on duty at reception was not really happy to have a guest arriving at that time.
When I got to the room, I wanted to get a quick shower to relax and try to sleep for few hours, but I found a dirty dark brown mark in the shower which I decide not to investigate further. I call the reception and was told the hotel was full and should wait until afternoon when they could check for an available room – No shower for me.
Before 8 a.m. I tried to connect to Internet and when I asked for a code I was told that I had to buy a prepaid Internet card to be able to use their access!!! After some complains, I was told that I could try the WiFi connection in the lobby, which was free – Still no new room, and would not dare to shower with the dirty mark.
Couple of hours later, when I was able to contact my office, they called back the hotel and the manager on duty contacted me. She asked me when I wanted to move to my new room, I told her what I was told when I initially contacted the reception and she said the hotel had rooms available and did not know why I was not given another room right away when I complained.
New room looked cleaned, but I was already feeling uncomfortable with the service, and the idea of have to buy prepaid Internet cards was not very pleasant knowing that during this biz trip I would need to work after the office and Internet access would be a must, so I checked out and moved to a place around the corner.
