We were at the same IFTA conference as Pausanias. I didn't notice the bathroom being tired, but did enjoy the strong power of the shower head. There were several accessible plugs so we were able to power up our phone, iPad, camera batteries... The room has two levels with the bed higher, and then the lower area has a desk, TV, and seating area. It seemed workable for my husband doing business. The view was amazing if a bit smoggy. I wondered what it was like further up in the building. There seem to be access to decks and things up higher up.
We arrived early and the rooms were not available until 2pm but they had a room for holding luggage so we were able to check in and leave our stuff safely while exploring some of the city. People from our conference that arrived later had to wait longer for their rooms than we did and weren't able to get in until after 4 or 5...
When we arrived there was an area set aside for the IFTA members to get juice, bottled water and coffee. At the reception overlooking the pool, there were fresh fruits and amazing white cheeses, bread and wine. The staff moved quickly restocking the food and beverages. The breakfast for the conference members was in the pavilion across the garden. There were hot foods such as sausage, bacon and scrambled eggs. They also made omelettes to order. The eggs in Chile seemed to always be on the runny side--so be forewarned if you want all the egg cooked. There was a selection of breads and lots of great fresh fruit was in season.
We ate at Matsuri, the Japanese restaurant. The food was fine (I remember thinking it was good, but already can't remember what we had). We had been to the ITFA reception and were hoping for a light meal. Ordering individual plates of sushi fit the bill.
There is a large mall within about a block for restaurants and shopping. We were put into one taxi by the hotel staff to go to Bellevista that cost $18,000 pesos but the return trip with a different taxi was only $8,000 pesos so be sure to ask for the cost before entering the vehicle. Taxi rides to the city center or the hills seemed relatively quick. We walked safely in several directions from the hotel and were able to find taxis to get back whenever we wanted. (There were so many men standing around in black suits waiting to help us that I wondered if they were regular staff or if they had upped the security. They were very helpful, but as a do-it-myself sort of person, I really didn't know how to act around them--I like carrying my own suitcase, for instance, but another man ran halfway around the building to find me a bottle of water.)
Room Tip: Rooms were quiet even with open atrium.
