“Sad, tired, and loud, but with a much quieter back tower”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 December 2011

We spent three nights in this hotel last week. The first two were in the front wing. The room was tiny. There was mold around the bathtub. It was hard to believe Fodor's that this hotel had been renovated in 2007. The AC worked very poorly so we opened the window - which meant that we slept terribly because the street below is very loud. The third night, we requested a quieter room and moved to the back tower. The AC worked perfectly, the room was bigger, the bathroom was much cleaner, and best of all it was blissfully quiet. The breakfast was standard for chile - yogurt, cold cuts, nescafe. The location of this hotel was extremely convenient to the old part of Santiago. The staff was not particularly friendly (they kept insisting that they did not have an information packet that my contact in Chile had left me, but then it miraculously showed up in my room; they were of no assistance with taxis, suggesting that it would be better for us to walk out to the street and hail one).

Room Tip: Request the back tower, even if it means you have to take 2 twins instead of a queen.

“Good Location, Small Rooms, Excellant Breakfast”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 September 2011

We have stayed here five or six times. This year we stayed 5 days. Great location. Wierd small rooms unless you get a suite in the adjoining building. A bit over priced for what you get. Excellant breakfast included.

The decor is strange, they have nailed pieces of 2 x 4's to the ceiling of the rooms and the walls of the bathroom. The ones in the bathroom especially in the showers have rotted and many have fallen off. Really dumb idea.

The staff is really helpful and friendly.

Next year we will find a different hotel in the same area

Room Tip: The suites in the adjoining building are much nicer than the rooms in the main building.

“Good location, frendly staff”

I liked this hotel. It was in the centre of Santiago. The metro station is just around the corner and the main square, Plaza de Armas only 10 minutes away. The staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast has a lot of options. The room was quite nice and I didn’t notice ant noise, but one night the bed trembled a little. It was a small earthquake in Santa Cruz.

The price was maybe too high. I don’t know the price, because I bought the whole tour package from my travel agency.

One negative point is, it isn’t any good restaurants in the neighbourhood, only some fast food places, so if you want fine dining you must go the Providencia area, but the food is rather expensive here.

“This is not a 4 star hotel barely a 2 star and noisy”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 December 2010

Just do your self a favour and do not stay here. Horrible noise from the street. Weird decor in the room and really dated in general. Dont know whos idea it was to glue 4x4 blocks of 2x4 to the walls but its dumb. The worst part is the noise of the city outside the street and the noise from the other rooms. Try the Novotel in Vitacura its very nice and good price as well.

“clean comfortable but pricey”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 November 2010

A good location by the University of Chile Metro Station. No parking at hotel but they give you a pass for a garage a block away. Santiago isn't car friendly so don't rent one if you are staying in the city. Use the Metro and the cabs.

Staff at the hotel are quite courteous and helpful. Hotel was pricey at $110 but they didnt charge for internet, photocopies, arking garage, or call to toll free number.

Rooms are comfortable, but King bed was two unipersonals put together.

I don't know why people say its ugly, it's not. It's a nice hotel.
