We spent three nights in this hotel last week. The first two were in the front wing. The room was tiny. There was mold around the bathtub. It was hard to believe Fodor's that this hotel had been renovated in 2007. The AC worked very poorly so we opened the window - which meant that we slept terribly because the street below is very loud. The third night, we requested a quieter room and moved to the back tower. The AC worked perfectly, the room was bigger, the bathroom was much cleaner, and best of all it was blissfully quiet. The breakfast was standard for chile - yogurt, cold cuts, nescafe. The location of this hotel was extremely convenient to the old part of Santiago. The staff was not particularly friendly (they kept insisting that they did not have an information packet that my contact in Chile had left me, but then it miraculously showed up in my room; they were of no assistance with taxis, suggesting that it would be better for us to walk out to the street and hail one).
