Location is wonderful....the room is spacious enough. I traveled with 3 kids under 9, and 5 other adults and we were satisfied with the hotel. We took 3-bedroom-apartment. The room was equipped with everything we needed. Definitely pick the hotel again on my next Singapore trip.

This apartment is definitely better than Somerset Orchard which is pretty dank. The location is excellent and thus even if it doesn't have a restaurant or cafe, it doesn't really matter as there are lots just a minute away. Although I must highly discourage from patronising the Japanese buffet, Sakura, just downstairs as the food is horrendous.
the parking is the downside as it's pretty pricey. It was S$7.50 for 2 exits in 2011 but when it became 2012 it was S$7.50 per exit. In fact, the hotel should undertake the cost.
Rather inconvenient if you drive back after midnight as you have to take the lift in the adjoining building, next to the raucous pub, amid the stares of drunken patrons, go down, and walk back into the building.
Another downer is the card which often isn't recognised in the lift making it inconvenient especially if you're going back to your room from the pool/breakfast level. Breakfast is nothing to shout about especially with the grumpy waitresses, but decent enough as it has all the basic items - juice, cereal, fruit, breads, coffee, egg.
Rooms are nice and comfortable. Bathrooms and the kitchen are well equipped. A little perturbed that housekeeping opened the door before I could get to it, despite my oral response to the doorbell. Also didn't like that they didn't clean on Sundays.
Other reviewers should remember that this is an apartment stay and not a hotel thus some things may not be hotel standards, but certainly better than many other apartments I've stayed at.

I took my family to Singapore to enjoy the Xmas decorations n lights which were very cheerful but the $ 500 to 600 per night charge was not worth it.
Upon check in at 3 pm , the staff seemed bored with no Xmas spirit. I had preordered premium tv channel n it had not been activated.
When we got to the apartment , we found the beds hard not luxurious , the towels were worn n thin , the living room couch n rug seemed old n needing cleaning.
There is no restaurant , no cafe , no bar ...no on site FB outlets.
There is daily maid service but we stayed 4 nights n sheets were changed only 1 time ( for $ 500+ per night that seems like penny pinching ).
There were 2 passenger elevators but no service or freight elevator so all employees , luggage , etc had to use these two elevators so upon check out we had to wait in our transport to airport for 20 minutes before luggage could come down ( after we also had waited 15 minutes for elevators because they always full )
The room telephone is not in the living room where you watch tv ( which was a good LCD tv ) but in the hallway . The night before departure we asked for a wake up call which came one hour late : (
What was good ?
The water pressure in shower ...sanitary hoses ...tv picture clarity ...air con was cold ...washing machine convenient ...pool was large n water cold.
If this was priced even at half the price then I would have felt over charged with unacceptable value.
My impression is because all hotels are running full then they can get away charging very high prices.

If you have stayed with the Ascott group(Cairnhill Somerset is a part of the group) you will be prepared for some luxurious serviced apartments. Ideal location as is 3 mins walk from Orchard rd(the best location to stay). We stayed in a 2 bedroom unit which is very comfortable with lots of space. The bedrooms are very comfortable, bathrooms are international standard, Kitchen is fully equipped if you wish to cook and living room with satellite TV, music system. As we were on higher floor we had some great view of Orchard road. Breakfast was strictly ok but staff was very helpful as we are vegetarians. Truly a great stay in the best location and at a great price. I recommend whether u are a couple or a group.
