At Shangri-La in Orange Grove Road I was taken care of as if I had brought my mother to Singapore. The staff are so friendly, helpful, positive and polite and they all made me feel welcome and comfortable. The room is nice, but room service is even better. And visit the restaurant BLU while you are there; the staff there is the best and the view is fantastic. This hotel really lives up to its reputation. Loved it!

A truly excellent hotel with all the amenities you need and several restaurants in-house to suit every palate. The restaurants are pricey but quality is first class. Wouldnt think of staying anywhere else in Singapore when I return there. Situated on a hill with green surroundings makes it wonderfully quiet and palatial. Just a stone-throw away from the main shopping streets. You may even use the free shuttle to get there but I found walking there ok too (5 minutes walk).
Rooms are beautifully furnished and the bed left you feeling great when waking up. The reception and the staff in general were all very polite and helpful whenever approached. You really felt like being the special guest they wanted to care for. It is sad to realize that this level of luxury, service and courtesy you hardly find in other parts of the world than certain Asian destinations like Singapore and Thailand

We love Singapore and the Shangri La is the best hotel. Stay in the towers, though. They've tried to upgrade us to the garden suite and we preferred the towers. The driver of your car will call ahead and there'll be a charming girl to meet you on the footpath outside, who will whisk you to your room for checkin. The bags just follow. The restaurants are great, but our preferred one is the eatery with the quaint name of "The Line". It's a buffet but not really -- twenty or so salads, soups they make while you wait, Indian food, Chinese, English, Japanese, twenty kinds of seafood and you pick your own. Then there's the desserts -- icecream made on a cold bench, custards, fresh fruit it goes on and on. The service is slick, smiling and very efficient. Breakfast on the top floor is also something special. And the canapés at night, too. That's why we like the tower, because it's all there.

This hotel is a true respite from the hustle and flow of downtown Singapore -you literally breathe a sigh of relief when you see the doorman and his amazing headgear!
The staff are friendly, the food is wonderful (the room service kway teow noodles are fantastic) and the ambience of the entire hotel is something you need to experience.
The pool staff are outstanding ( thank you Bernard and Raymond) and the pool itself is really beautiful.
It is only a short walk to Orchard MRT and Ion Orchard or there is a very convenient shuttle to the main shopping precinct.
