This was the place where I saw friendliest staff.
They arranged me an early check in on demand and also made my room in short time.

All my requests were fulfilled like high floor, baby coat etc.
Location is great as its only a short walk from Trains and food court.
Spacious enough rooms.

three nights in this hotel was almost too much. On a positive staff were helpful and breakfast was ok. Room average, bathroom below average. Worse was the strong cigarette smell the minute you exited your room even though we were on a non smoking floor! The whole hotel is well overdue a makeover. Pool area was also disappointing. Don't think we'll go back.

I got a good deal here and was therefore surprised to be upgraded on arrival to the 'Royal residence' - this is a set of apartments in a tower block across from the hotel car park. If these can be booked separately, I really recommend them. You get (for Singapore) a large room with storage space, a kitchenette, nice bathroom and lots of windows. The desk is large and ideal for business, wifi was fine. Must have been recently refurb'd because it all looked brand new. I even had a 14th floor balcony - about 1M3 admittedly, but still fun. There is a small lap pool outside with some loungers, and the grounds to the residences are private - key access only.

The only downside to the stay was a group of 20-something meat heads on my landing who had congregated in a single room to be as obnoxious as possible. Seemed to me that one had paid for a room and then let all his mates in. Tip for the hotel - when cretins like this order room service, withhold the booze delivery and chuck them out when you realize what they are up to. Luckily they started fighting at midnight and went their separate ways. Good riddance.

In terms of the area, it is a little off the beaten track and I really liked it . Velocity mall is within walking distance and has a good selection of bread shops / cafes and restaurants. Food court in the basement doing good local food for not a lot. The vegetarian restaurant was especially good. There is also a parade of local bars if you want a cheap taste of something a bit more authentic than Clarke Quay. About a ten-min walk from the MRT once you work out which exit to take.

Room tip: Ask for the Royal residences. I can't comment on the main hotel, as I didn't stay in it.

Night before leaving i decided to stay here. HUUUUGE mistake. i could of stayed w my family for free, but i did not want to wake them up in the middle of the night as my departing flight was at o'dark thirty so i had to be out of the hotel at 3 am.

The room next to me had someone, which the hotel denies was staff, making a racket of noise coming from room 1506: a blaring tv on highest volume, followed by a radio on high, followed by a series of crinkling and breaking of what sounded like empty plastic water bottles. Clearly done out of spite. i was in room 1505. loud traffic noise too.

I stayed here 8 yrs ago and same thing: some disgruntled employee cracking a plastic empty water bottle in the hallway 2 nights in a row. i stepped out and asked them to stop disrupting the peace and quiet. and 8 years ago it was filthy. my pillow smelled disgusting.

i complained at the receptionist and they pretended not to understand english, or were acting stupid. Then when i wrote an e mail they said "why didn't you tell us at the time?"

i only wanted to sleep a few hours and managed only to get at most 45 min of shut eye.

The hotel refused to refund me one red cent. i had even demanded a refund right there on the spot, do you think i even got a partial refund? no…
They have not met their part in providing a safe and quiet, comfortable sleeping environment.

May yours and my dollar votes go elsewhere, so these ppl go out of business.

They were overpriced, dirty surfaces covered w gross dust, and i don't care if their lobby was fancy. I don't sleep in the hotel lobby. and maybe i should have slept there as i probably would have slept better.

This hotel is the scum of the earth,
