Took a 3 night break. The complex is a gem in it own grounds with its own beeches. Well laid out with little sign of other guests. Has all the necessities for a quiet relaxed break. Rooms are large, comfortable and well equiped. Stayed in an ocean view with garden room. It was great. The food is good and the menu varied. Staff are very discrete, friendly and helpful. Will not hesitate to recommend to others. Only slight issue is that everything is slightly on the expensive side.

we celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary on our 10 day trip, the managementn staff made it a very special occasion. the food, service and staff was excellentant and plus it was an ideal romantic location.

Awesome place! Well worth the 1.5 hours drive from Mactan. Upon reaching Mactan Cebu International Airport, we immediately spoked with the airport representative of Alegre. Mr. Daniel contacted the resort to make a reservation for us for a day tour. An overnight stay would have been great but we have to go to Bohol the next day, so we opted for a day tour for Php 1500/person. The Php 1000 is consumable for food and drinks at the resort's restaurant and bar. The staff was friendly and unobtrusive. Upon check in , we were given towels for use in the pool area. We had a spectacular view of the beach for lunch. Food was good. There is Wi-Fi in the whole resort. The beach has fine golden beige sand and clear blue waters. There is a separate area for the spa, pool, activity areas and rooms for guests were simply great. Over all, Alegre Beach Resort in Sogod Cebu is well worth the long drive.

Alegre is the perfect getaway when you're fed up of the hustle and bustle of the city, in my case, Hong Kong. Located 2 hours from Cebu airport and the city centre, the remoteness of Alegre adds to the charm of this boutique resort.

Indeed, the resort may not be the most modern when compared to other properties in Cebu, but the presentation and comfort cannot be beat! Without a doubt, the highlight was the service - staff members were more than willing to go the extra mile - always wearing a bright smile.

The icing on the cake was Alegre's private island - Capitancillo - a 3 hour ride on the resort's giant "banka" (Filipino tri-rig boat). It offers crystal clear snorkeling/diving and Robinson Crusoe type seclusion. The resort actually has a government environmental protection agreement, where it uses the island, but ensures its natural integrity. This is also the case with the resort's "house reef" in front of their beautiful private beach.

When Hong Kong drives me up the walls again, I will no doubt head back down to Alegre!
