This place was recommended to us by the tourist information at the ferry station. Stayed only one night there and found a MUCH better place (Tonglen Resort) the next day, where we then spend 4 nights.

Staff were not welcoming, particularly interested or friendly, room ok but smelly bathroom and air condition didn't work. Feels like a tourist rip-off. Due to the location they don't really have to try and make people stay.

They also hand you a whole list of weird "rules" e.g. you cannot charge your mobile phone in the room, etc. Just not customer friendly.

There are 3 "Alice in Wonderland" properties - one right on the beach where we stayed, one garden property and another one on the other side of the island.

We enjoyed this place which is best described as a dozens of bungalows sorrounded by a nice and quiet garden area in the middle and a pool. Our stay lasted five nights. I enjoyed to sit in the relaxed garden in the evenings with a beer reading a book. The staff around the garden area was friendly and the place felt safe with a fence sorrounding the place and lots of safe guards. The place can be hard to find as it is situated about 200 metres behind the beach. The advantage is that you stay away from the spectacle on the beach in the evenings. By the way, the beach and the water few minutes away are beautiful.

How many times you have dived in a swimming pool? How many times you have had pain in your eyes while diving in them? Yes here they put SO MUCH CHEMICALS in to that pool that you can not even use it. The water smells, it burns your eyes, its terrible. I complained 4 times and finally talked with the manager about it and she said: "we have to put MORE CHEMICALS because SOME PEOPLE DONT USE TOILET"....... So instead of kindly saying for customers dont use pool as a toilet they just add more chemicals. So I wanted money back and she simply run away? Amazing. I have to even try to search her, no kidding:D Finally one worker gave my money back.

This could be okay resort, but many things are done stupidly. Bed sheet are like butter paper and very old. Towels are so old that they have even 5x5cm holes in it. Bathroom smells bad, in general you don't wanna be there. AC is not able to keep the room cold enough. Shower doesn't work if you turn hot water and more pressure at the same time. So you have to use cold water only.

But anyway you have to pay full price even when the service is so compromised. There are a lot of hotels on this nice island which are even cheaper and work properly. Forget this one. They don't care about paying customer, just money.

It wasn't beachfront. It's a few minutes walk from the beach, but it was worth it. The ambiance is really "native." Each room has duyan (native word for something like a big cradle). It was really refreshing. They also have a swimming pool. The staffers were really friendly. They also clean the room everyday, the change the bedsheets daily as well. Overall I'd definitely recommend this hotel.
