“Nice location BUT Nothing works”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 December 2010

The receptionist gave us a fair priced walk in rate the for the sea view room, so we thought.
When staying in the rooms we found out that some of the lights were not working. Also NO connection at all to the WIFI router. But the final nail in the coufin was when we had no water at all to at least take a shower. Reception area is dirty an you can see electrical wires hanging out of the walls everywhere which makes the place unsafe.
The only good thing was the view from our balcony coz this place is right on the beach.

Dear JB!
Apologies for this very delayed reply, but better late than never we bring at least good news today! True Home Hotel has worked on all your points, and we admit it was more than time to update the office area and the water system. We truly regret to have caused you a rather unpleasant stay, and to make up with that, would like to invite you to spend 2 nights in one of our rooms with balcony, which view you have enjoyed, and make yourself a new opinion about us. We assure you, you can now take a shower at any time, enjoy the complimentary wifi at any place, and simply have a good and relaxing vacation!

“Great value, clean hotel if you can tolerate the loud club music”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 December 2010

We've stayed in True Home 3 times and we do like it. We've stayed at the Deluxe beachfront which literally opens up to the sand and the Junior suite on the second flr which has a great view and a lot of deck space to dry clothes, eat breakfast and lounge in private. The breakfast is as mentioned not that great. Very meat heavy and the instant coffee is horrible.

The location and service is good. But I've decided finally that the loud club music is really too disturbing. The thumping is just unbearable if you want to have a quiet beach getaway. But if you are going to come home at 4am, then it's great because you can literally crawl home.

The price is good for location in Boracay and what you get. Water temperature and pressure is a problem when a lot of people are using it.

“Great room and service, but we couldn't sleep well at night”

We went to Boracay this summer, and we stayed at True Home Hotel again (last stay there was 2006). This time, we stayed at their Junior Suite and I must say, this room was really great. We had a breathtaking view of the beach, a verandah where we ate our breakfast and dried our clothes (haha), and a big bathroom with a huge window overlooking the beach (but be careful; curtains should be closed when you bathe unless you want the entire Boracay Station 1 people to see you! But at night, they can still see your silhouette!) Service was really nice; staff was so polite and they immediately act on requests. We had our lunches cooked by their staff too (we asked them to go to the market and cook fresh seafood) and we had such wonderful meals everyday. We also bought plenty of tropical fruits and they made fruit shakes for us everyday at almost no added costs. We really saved a lot on meals this time, and we ate fresh seafood everyday. It would have been a perfect vacation except for one major misfortune--- we hardly slept well at night. In my previous review, we were bothered by the loud party noises. This time, the same problem haunted us. Every night, parties were held nearby True Home hotel when we stayed there, and they played very loud music until 4am. We areally couldn't sleep at all. There were again some very, very rude guests who were so so noisy. These impolite guests would sing and shout to each other whenever they come home around 2-4 am after they party, and they would bang their doors. These are truly signs of poor upbringing, shame on them really! So, will I stay there again? This time, my answer would be a firm no. I just realized that True Home Hotel is in a location not suitable for guests who go to Boracay for peace and quiet. This is the perfect place, though for those who go to Boracay to party all out.

“It's not a "True" Home! (unless you have a similar one)”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 April 2010

I booked this "Hotel" following the comments of others guests that experienced it in the past. I have been there with my family for a total of 4.
Initially I booked for a "superior room", but the day before, browsing on their web site, it didn't appear well to my eyes. Unfortunately I chose, a room qualified as "de luxe" just because was facing the sea shore. It wasn't fitting at all for 4 persons as my request. One of my children, 13, was accomodated with a simple matress on the floor. We couldn't open the curtain looking at the sea, just because our window was facing a small patio where the (few) guests may have a drink or breakfast.
No privacy at all and moreover, a narrow road, passing beside the hotel directing to the seashore was always crowded and noisy.
After my complaints, they "upgraded" me at the "Presidential suite" at 3rd floor, only because the "junior suite" at the 2nd, was already occupied.
The room was nicer and larger, fitting for 4 but I experienced one day with no hot water and one other with NO water at all. The few staff did their best to fix it, but the hassles I suffered haven't been compensated.
The reception desk is open only until 8 pm and after that only a security guard is attending the entrance. NO manager on site, NO restaurant, NO maintanance....
Forget even any particular satisfaction about a good breakfast. The small choices, served in a single plate, just give you the energy to climb up the stairs of your room after it.
2 slices of bread, 1 egg, 2 slices of ham and a small trace of jam and butter, a portion of an unriped mango, together with a hot watery cup for an instant coffee it's all you should have to dream....
In few words, NO value for your money and I'm really surprise how they can still manage an hotel in these conditions. Forget it!

“quaint rooms, delicious breakfast!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 February 2010

i initially tried booking with them through email but received no reply. however, when i did get ahold of them via their mobile number, the reservation went smoothly. they sent us a proper quotation by email--very professional--which included payment options and procedures, as well as the room number and other details.

finding the place was a breeze. all the tricycle drivers from the entry port in boracay island knew where the hotel was. it's along station one, close to the famed rock. its reception area faces the concrete main road at the back, and there's a small path that leads you to the beach. the place is quiet during the day, but since it's close to cocomangas, guilly's, and other bars, there's a lot of action at night, too.

our rooms were upstairs, in the back, and i found them so lovely. we stayed in room number 7, which was huge! it also had quaint antique furniture that gave it a very homey feel. the room had a bathroom, air conditioning, TV, mini bar, safe, a table and two chairs, and lots of closet space. it was very clean (the room and the hotel itself), and service was friendly and prompt enough.

breakfast is included with every reservation (breakfast for two per room), and all of us were very happy with what we had each morning. the choices are varied enough, and the food is delicious.

we did encounter some problems with the shower. if a lot of people in the hotel are taking showers at the same time as you are, water is hard to come by.

true home hotel isn't the cheapest you will find on the island, but for what you get, it sure is worth it!
