“Good beachfront experience”

This was my first trip to Boracay and after careful research I decided on booking a beachfront hotel in station 3, away from the crowds. I was a little dubious after reading some of the rather negative reviews on Arwana, but the price averaging around 48 Euros for a 7-night stay was pretty good considering I arrived during high season.
When I arrived in the early afternoon my room wasn't ready but the male front desk clerk was very polite and apologetic, and I only had to wait 20 minutes. I had booked a standard room but was given what I believe was probably a superior room on the 1st floor - an added bonus!

Rooms and bathrooms are fairly basic but very clean. My room wasn't cleaned on only one occasion, but I didn't complain and this seems to be the "norm" in other Boracay hotels too. Plenty of hot water and water pressure was very good. The A/C was a little noisy on the high setting but I found that it was perfectly adequate and much quieter set on low at night.

Breakfast and other food from the snack menu are very good. Drinks are very reasonably priced, especially during happy hour which lasts most of the day.
Service was very good and all staff extremely helpful and friendly - a big thanks to all of them for making my stay so pleasant!

Location is excellent for those who want a peaceful setting and don't mind a 10 to 15 minute walk to the mall and station 2.
There are several great places to hang out near the Arwana, so you don't need to go down to station 2 every night, and I could easily find a quiet spot to relax on the beach.

Only negative point was no fridge in the room.

I really enjoyed my stay here and after comparing the rooms and amenities to other nearby hotels in a similar price range, I found the Arwana is a very good deal. I'll definitely be back!

Room Tip: Try to avoid the rooms on the ground floor which face an alley and are probably a little noisy from...

“I strongly dout all the good review from here”

I used to trust all reviews from Trip advisor until i stayed at Arwana Boracay.
As i searched all reviews which is not only from trip adviosr but also from agoda are good.
However i got shocked when we entered our room.
First of all our room had no space at all to stand.
Second the shower was broken.
The credit card machine did not work well so we had to wait for long!

Also for your reference it takes 20min form Dmall.

If this hotel is under $20 i can understand.
However even though it is $70 it is not even better than $40 one.

I am not a person who likes bunch of people.
However the hotel which is located in station 2 was $40 and had a refrigerator which is not for Arawana.

Please consider that if you are going to Boracay with somebody
you better go somewhere better place.
If my boy friend reserve this kind of hotel i would slap him!
you can go much better place with that money.

“basic hotel on the beach”

I stayed at this hotel with my husband. Our stay at this hotel was given to us by a friend as a gift. Our friend was one who spoke with the staff regarding our airport transfer, I guess there was some misunderstanding or miscommunication because they weren't able to do just that. It was late cause our flight was the last flight from Manila to Kalibo. We ended up commuting and taking the vans at the airport, rode the boat, and transferred to a tricycle. We were greeted warmly by the staff and were told that the airport transfer was already paid but they don't allow refunds, they would provide our breakfast everyday that would equal it's amount. The room was basic, nothing out of the ordinary. the breakfast was just alright. It is in Station 3, but the neighborhood good. Very peaceful and quiet. Would I recommend the hotel? not really. You can do better, there are a lot of hotels around the area with reasonable rates. But who am i to complain, we didn't really pay for it. It would have been much much worse if we did.

“Poor customer service”

When we arrived the staff member at reception advised that they had given our superior room away. We suggested they text us when the room was ready which they did at 6pm. We were shown to a family room which had no toilet paper & no towels. The staff member blamed the Manila office as they make the block bookings & he advised that there was nothing he could do as he was just an employee. There was no on-duty manager & we were refused a refund so we told him to sort it out. Two days later we were asked if we had moved into our new room as yet which we hadn't as no-one had bothered saying anything to us. Upon checkout the same staff member that checked us in advised us that we should have contacted them regarding the change of room.

“Beach front but very basic”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 January 2012

I’ve recently stayed 3 nights at Arwana. I originally booked a standard twin room but on arrival we were given a double room. They simply told us that all the standard twin rooms are already taken. They weren’t apologetic at all. I was a little annoyed as I sent a reminder email a week prior that we wanted 2 single beds in the room.

Our room on the first floor was tiny and very basic. The room literally had a double bed and a TV. Not even a bedside table. Only a little room left for our bags on the floor. Surprisingly, the cable TV had about 50 channels. The room was quiet.

Basic air conditioning worked in the room. You can’t do fancy things like setting a temperature (no remote control either). It is also placed quite high up. Every time we wanted to change the setting, we had to bring a chair from outside!

Bathroom was also small and the basin was within the room, not inside the bathroom. Hot water worked. Bring your own toiletries as only a cheap bar of soap is provided. The hotel provides towels. You can ask for beach towels at the reception also.

Location of the hotel is great, right on the beach. The hotel has its deck chairs in front of the hotel for guests. Station 3 is a nice area. From Caticlan jetty boat station, it takes about 10 mins on tricycle (100 pesos). Tricycles go up to a sealed alley way near the hotel (about 5 mintues walk). You'll need to carry your bags on the beach to reach the hotel.

Breakfast included in the rate was okay. Pancake is the best option there. Some other options were terrible. It was lovely having breakfast on the beach every morning though. Please note that service is generally quite slow here and waiting staff are also quite forgetful even if they aren’t busy. It took about 45 minutes for breakfast to be served.

The room is very basic but I cannot complain as it was cheap for a beach front hotel. Just don’t expect much from a room…beach in front of the hotel is nice. Boracay is a lovely place and It is definitely worthwhile staying on the beach.
