I stayed alone at Frendz Resort. I am from the US and traveled alone from Manila to Boracay.

Positives of the trip: Getting to the island was a little tricky. Without the help from the Frendz resort employee, I would have been lost! He picked me up at the airport and took me to the jetty port, then helped me get a tricycle to the hostel. Once I arrived at the hostel, staff took my bags and offered me a drink. The staff was friendly enough and the hostel was cute and clean. The location is PERFECT. Just a short walk to the beach and mall.

Negatives: I had a single room, without A/C (my biggest mistake of the trip). The room was a bit dark but comfy if you didn't mind the scortching heat, the little roommates (the lizards) who made an appearance once in a while or the rooster and the stray dogs that were constantly making noise. If I paid the extra money for the A/C, I may have been able to sleep better. Only downside to the location is you have to walk down a short alley to get to the resort. Not great if you're a single female walking alone.

Very cheap price. Pay the extra money for the A/C and you should be okay.

After a red eye flight to Manila and nearly missing our connecting flight all we wanted to do was get to a bed and rest. We got a moto taxi from the pier to a dirt road and all I began to worry. Is this a joke? After walking about 100 meters down this dirt road we came to a sign for frendz. The surrounding area was a mix of rubble and jungle. I had serious doubts. Once we got into the gate and found the common area we felt relieved. People! We spoke with a woman who asked us to sit down and we were offered a welcome drink. We arrived quite early so our room wasn't ready yet. We decided to have some breakfast. While waiting for our food we began chatting with two German guys and a third came over and started asking us some questions. I wondered who this guy was until he introduced himself as the owner of the resort! He was very friendly and kind to our son who was pretty grumpy after not sleeping most of the night.
The rest of our stay was fantastic. We met some lovely people and will definitely stay here again.

I stayed here in April, arriving as a single traveller I was greeted by friendly staff and a mango cocktail! I stayed in the 400p dorm rooms which are very different than normal dorms.... It has 2 single beds down stairs plus bathroom... And then upstairs (in the loft) there is 4 single beds with plenty of room for bags and storage!!!

Very safe... So friendly... Right in the center: close to summer place, cocomangas, tattoo bar, Dmall... Can't get any better!

Myself and my partner stayed here recently and we loved it! The main emphasis is on their high level of service at a low price and they certainly achieved that.
Staff are incredibly friendly and refer to all guests on first name terms. They will make enquiries for you regarding excursions, as well as give recommendations and advice regarding things to do/places to eat/go on the island.
The rooms are spacious and clean and fresh towels were provided. Rooms were made up every other day. We stayed in an en-suite deluxe bungalow with a private verandah-great for relaxing in the evening.
Food is good value and tasty and they will deliver it to your verandah!
Frendz is about 2 minutes walk to the beach and they have beach loungers in front of a restaurant. Staff will bring food and drink to your lounger and charge it to your room.
The only negative was the shower water smelt funny and the shower gave a mild electric shock if you put your hand near the shower head. To be fair, there is a sign saying "don't touch", but I assumed this was because it was fragile so went to touch it gently and got a shock.
Apart from that, a great experience and we will be returning.
