“great service . . bad location”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

the service was great but place was orginal made to be SPA house. then things changed to be hotel. Rooms are OK. but not worth price you pay for extra Jacuzzi in room. that you will never use. Hotel is quite area. and nothing close walking distance. but one good thing you can have nice private time in garden. Swimming pool is nice but not for kids and actual swimming.

“Not what we paid for”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 December 2011

We had originally decided to go for Boracay Hills since it was away from the noise of the beach front and secluded, however it turned out that there were building works going on next door which woke us up before 7am each morning which wasn't ideal.
We opted for Boracay Hills due to the good reviews on Tripadvisor, however it wasn't quite what it seemed...we had paid for one of their new Garden Jacuzzi Suites which boasted new facilities (i had been sent photos from Karen before we arrived) and our own private jacuzzi hottub. However when we arrived, we were informed that there were 'things being installed in our room' so we had been upgraded to the Honeymoon suite instead. None of the jacuzzi suites were available when i asked - they were all being worked on.
Unfortunately, although the room was lovely and big and had a nice terrace overlooking the pool, the bathroom lacked the hottub (which had been the real selling point to us) and was rather old. The shower didn't work properly and generally the whole suite was just a bit dated. In heinsight we should have complained/moved out, but since it was our first trip together we just decided to enjoy our time there instead rather than complain.
As our trip continued, it became apparent that NONE of the garden suites advertised were ready, and we believe that is where the builders noise was coming from. SO BE WARNED IF YOU WANT ONE OF THESE ROOMS! We are sure they knew they wouldn't be ready when we arrived, but rather than lose out on our business, they 'upgraded' us upon arrival when it was too late for us to change our minds.
The pool is a nice size, although when we first arrived no one had cleaned it so there were quite a lot of leaves around on the surface. When we wanted to use it the following day, they were cleaning it, but after saying 'it will be ready in 5 minutes' it took a further hour and a half so we had our time wasted a bit there.
The buildings at the hotel are used by the Helios Spa, so I think most of the advertised 'hotel' rooms are actually spa rooms when not used - their 'gym hut' (on their website) was full of bed frames which we recognised from their website photos. I think its basically a spa which they advertise as a hotel to get more guests to stay.
A further slight disappointment was the 'continental breakfast' which turned out to be 4 slices of toast each and some tea...
On a plus, the staff were very nice and friendly, and did help us with any queries and issues we had (removing a small lizard from our room one evening) and the shuttle bus was very useful. The room was cleaned daily and we had fresh flowers to come home to each evening.

All in all, our holiday itself to Boracay was brilliant, but that was due to the beaches and atmosphere at the front predominantly rather than the hotel. Unfortunately, i think its a spa trying to be a hotel, and fobbing people off by saying 'we are installing things in your room' rather than admitting that the room we had booked wasn't built yet was not good management. Just be careful if wanting to book here - I feel we ended up overpaying for what we got, considering it advertises such a high standard of rooms.

it was a blessing that i chose boracay hills while we were in boracay.
i became famous as a filipino who brought friends from china.
as we came back after 3 nights stay, my 2 friends collected lots of pictures of boracay including the place of our accommodation. Their whole family saw it, and they were so amazed with the style and fantastic views of the place, they thought it was already the boracay beach, hehehe. their family so pleased that i took cared of them.
i personally thank edmond by bringing back my backpack likewise to karen and john, i almost lost it...took one day but still recover...... thanks also to michael who shared some lifestyle story in boracay and the "tuko". thanks for smoking with us during midnight hehehe.
place is so peaceful, executive suite....huge! we thought we were asked to pick one from that floor, but we didnt know, it was all ours....hahaha
price is reasonable, but hope i could ask for a little more discount next time....
also the one who always prepare for our breakfast though we woke up so late yet we still have....thank you, sorry forgot your name.....also to chad, thanks for making us laughed.
going out at night even midnight....no problem, you would not hesitate to ask for it, because they will offer it.....thanks also for suggested places to eat....my friends appreciated so much, they enjoyed.....
boracay hills a well known resort hotel in boracay, everyone knows it.....
ask for help?, service?, suggestions?....they all have it....better yet, they all give it....
thanks guys and see you soon!!!

Room Tip: better go to boracay with lots of friends. stay in boracay hills executive suite....you will be comp...

“Nice facility, But Poorly Managed”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 August 2011

The family stayed at this facility for three nights. During that period the room was only cleaned once. The toilet did not work properly and had to be "fixed" by the staff no less than three times. Perhahs for future reference, the staff might replace the working parts to ensure that it does work.
The bathroom reeked with an oder not suitable for humans. It was not cleaned during the visit. Nor was the bed linen changed.

“In the middle of nowhere!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 August 2011

I originally booked this room for 5 nights and to move to a beachfront hotel when my friends got there. I wanted somewhere a little more secluded and safe. I was welcomed by a bunch of builders renovating the main building and constructing a spa outhouse with the noise from 7am to 5pm and therefore stopping any use of the pool. Not a great start. My room as spacious as it was, had no telephone, dirty sheets with stains i can only describe as ointment/oil marks, smelly toilet and a shower that offered cold or tepid water...struggling to pump out any water. I checked out the next day to go and stay at the Surfside Resort which was great. When i told the girl about the sheets she offered no apology and just shrugged leaving me to believe that this is a common problem. I fail to believe how anyone would think this was an equivalent to a 5*, the only 5* service they offered was a shuttle service out of the place.
