My bf and i stayed here together with 3 of our friends on Nov. of 2009 for 4d and 3n.Cool place.. It's in station 2 but im still having a hard time walking to d'mall, its like a 15min walk though its also in station 2. It's beside Boracay regency. Very cheap beachfront hotel. We only paid P3,000 plus 500 for extra bed. They have clean sheets and clean towels everyday. Room has two double beds and big enough for the 5 of us.

“Loved The Native Style Accommodations”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 October 2008

Coming from the States, booking it can be hassle, at that time it was 3,000 pesos a night for a bungalow, they wanted a 50% deposit to a Philippine bank account, thankfully I know somebody in the Philippines to facilitate it.
We loved the native-style accommodations, they came with a hammock, the room is big enough for 2, they have a gate and a security guard at night.
Don't count on the breakfast unless you can live with coffee and bread.
A few steps from the front door is the beach, you're right in the middle of White Beach, adjacent to the resort is Boracay Regency Hotel.
The resort basically just offer a room but the place looks relaxing with the palm trees, not a lot of guests even though the bungalows were all rented out while we were there.
Our room is the first line of defense in case there's a storm and night life on White Beach can be rowdy but in the room we could hardly hear the foot traffic on the beach and the airconditioner worked perfectly.
We enjoyed going to Villa Carmela for breakfast or lunch, their menu is extensive and the prices are cheap, we would get 3 or 4 entrees with our rice to get a taste of the different dishes knowing full well we can't finish it, we'll have our leftovers wrapped then we give it to the girls at Tirol Beach Resort because they're so nice and accommodating, in the morning they're the first to say good morning.
Enjoyed the Korean barbecue at Boracay Regency, you get to cook it on a pot on your table, the tables are set on the beach, very romantic and a number of the waitstaff are within close proximity to the diners in case you need a thing or 2.
Tasted the best tiramisu at a Italian deli, fronting the deli you can sit and enjoy while watching passers-by.

  • Liked — the palm trees, the friendliest people, the native style accommodations and just a few steps from the front door is the beach
  • Disliked — no room service, no restaurant, no swimming pool

“Regular visitors”

My family and I have been spending Christmas and New Year at TNT for the last 5 years and will come back again this year...and probably forevermore. The balance of price, quality, convenience to everywhere, staff attitude, and the charm of native cottages combine to make it an unbeatable destination..

The location is great, 2 minutes from the cottage to the beach so we do not worry aboutr my young daughter making her way there and back. The porch/balcony with the hammock is so relaxing specially in the afternoon when we sit and watch people go by and also the beautiful sunset.

The room is clean with 2 double beds and the housekeeping staff are very friendly and accommodating.

They serve coffee/tea and toast every morning but if you like, they will also serve eggs cooked the way you want it.

Forget the concrete hulk of the Regency next door...stay somewhere with some Filipino style.

  • Liked — location and friendly, helpful staff
  • Disliked — none

“The Regulars”

We always stay at Tirol and Tirol when in Boracay with our family! We love the location, the kids walk to and from our room a million times a day, very convenient. Us grownups can have cocktail hour nearby as well. The rooms are spacious and clean. The rates are very good. Its not fancy, but that's what a beach resort should be, simple and comfortable. We like staying there and look forward to going yearly.

“Great Stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 March 2006

I read the previous review and just had to chime in.

We visited Boracay on a whim and upon arrival walked the eastern beach between station 1 and 3. After visiting several places, we found this pleasant place at Station 2. It's near everything, and if you're lucky, you can get a spot close to the beach.

It's not a 4 star hotel, but it has something few other places have: native cottages and a nice garden. The price was also just right.

We did also experience a booking problem... sort of. Because we liked it so much, we extended our stay a couple days, but we had to move to a different room.

I disagree with the comments about the staff, whom I found quite friendly. The clerk was very worried and informed us quite politely. I suppose if you're pre-disposed to stubborn complaining and whining, you will tend to get the same reaction from folks, even from the most stalwart of the service industry. Just my 2 cents of travel advice, nothing personal.

Anyway, we moved to another cottage (it was actually nicer, but a little further away from the beach).

Other descriptions:

- The square cottages are single or dual, with a front porch. Some come with a small hammock. (I fell asleep there, it was so peaceful). The walls are of a stained native wood, same as the floor. Cleanliness of the room, sheets, and bathroom is good.

- The roof is made of layers of tightly woven palm leaves and latticework. For some reason, a few grains of sand would always be on the neatly made bed sheets in the evening. I couldn't figure out how they got there, but the grains were easily brushed aside with a stroke of an arm.

- You might track some sand into the room on the floor, but only if you forget to use the little water spigots in front of each porch to clean your feet and sandals.

- Breakfast is minimal (tea and a couple slices of bread), there is no cook for the guests. Many good restaurants are nearby. There are also a few pubs and disco's but thankfully they are a bit further away = quieter at night.

- The staff cut the grass with hand scissors, hehe. No lawnmovers and weed whackers here.

In all, if you're looking for a upscale, modern hotel with marble floors and a staff that kisses your (-) even if you're being an (-), don't go here. But if you're the type that likes a more natural place that blends better with its environment, and is staffed with friendly, real people, then this is the one.

I would stay there again.
