“Excellent Resort With Great Facilities and Views...”

stayed for 2.5 days, and loved it here...

large lounge, and separate kitchen areas...beautiful large balconies with stunning views...good size bedroom, and spacious washroom (i wish they had had a tub as well as shower, but shower was powerful and good).

restaurant was pleasant, although food was average for us...

free shuttle bus made it so easy to get dropped off at the D mall (station 2) and explore the shops, and wander onto the beautiful boracay beach... if you wanted to stay later than the shuttles ran (midnight), then the local taxi bikes were only 150 p back, so it was a win win...

loved it here, and would be back at the drop of a hat! pool and jacuzzi rely on the heat of the day for their warmth, so ended up jumping off the private beach jetty of the hotel and enjoying the sea until later in the day :-)

in summary i would recommend this hotel to anyone looking to be far enough from the stations to have peace, but close enough to be in the action when you wanted it! eat out at the mass of restaurants and bars on white beach and its a perfect stay!

my 2nd favourite hotel in my recent visits to the Philippines behind the panglao bluewater resort, which was idyllic)...

Room Tip: I dont think you cn go wrong, but I was told the privately owned apartments have some bespoke touche...

“First Class -- Amazing Service from first contact”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 January 2012

Our stay at Monaco was a fairy tale dream from first contact at the airport to the moment we departed. Monaco made it simple to get from the airport to our resort, the transfer was seamless and the champagne toast on the boat ride across to Boracay just set the tone for the entire trip. The men who transport you back and forth are completely professional and extremely competent at their job.
Upon arrival at the resort, it was even more beautiful than the web site pictures. Check in was fast and easy and I was so happy to meet Juniper who had helped us make our reservations earlier in the year. After a nice Mango Juice smoothie on reception we were taken to our two bedroom suite and Lillian (guest relations) showed us around our suite and explained how everything worked and answered all our questions.
Housekeeping went above and beyond during our stay. We had a couple very minor issues and they were very quick to rectify any problem. We never once had to wash a dish because housekeeping would clean before we had a chance. Housekeeping would clean multiple times a day. They were amazing.
The resort has an amazing breakfast buffet that is a huge selection. Not only do they offer a few lunch type items, they have made to order omeletts, heart shaped pancakes, a variety of cereals, a variety of juices, a large selection of lunch meets and cheeses, a bounty of fresh fruit, and a full blown bakery section of yummy delights. And despite what a prior review stated, the four adults in our group agreed that Monaco had the best food on the island. We ordered room service a few times and each time it was delicious and a good value.
The dolphin pool was amazing and much bigger than it looks in the pictures. It was awesome sitting by the pool and being served drinks. Claudio became my best friend, he was always there in the morning smiling as he served our coffee and he was there at night when we were in need of room service or cocktails at the pool. Claudio is outstanding for guest service.
As, I mentioned before the transportation men were always professional and very helpful. Even when we made the error of getting on the wrong transport for the beach, they took care of us.
Oh, and I have to mention the great Coco Loco and their wonderful staff. The food is great and the drinks are even better. Being at the Coco Loco made me feel very special and Jenny the owner is amazing!! Sandy who will have your chair and your towel and umbrella waiting for you at the beach is friendly and helpful.
My husband and I were blessed to have a short tour from the owner of the Monaco the day we departed. He is a wonderful man who really cares about Monaco and it completely shows.
There was not one bad thing about Monaco and in fact everything was over the top amazing and exceed our every expectation. I just cant wait to go back again!!

Been there with family (wife +2 kids) over chinese new year 2011.

It was the "wrong" side of the island, due to the strong wind this side is useless, unless you are a surrfer or similar.
We like it anyway because it was quiet, and the staff arranged a small van to take us to the village. The kids had fun traveling on these small scrappy vans.

Room Tip: room with sea views are amazing, waking up and see the open sea is a bonus.

I agree with one of the comments, "I felt like a King!"

Starting off from caticlan airport; we were welcomed as a VIP having our own private comfy pick-up van by the hotel. A quick stroll towards the sea port for the boat transfer for about 5 mins. Buying a ticket was a shortcut for our guide and walah! we had our tickets. On to our private speed boat with a bottle of shampagne while we stood in humps of the sea wave towards the island of boracay for about 5 mins. Once landed, we're off to the hotel which took about 10 mins passing through the locals' neighborhood. Upon arrival, we checked-in and accompanied us to our "suite" and wow! great room, great toilet, great balcony, and great view! simply wow! relaxing...

Everyone is just soooo accommodating, soooo hospitable, soooo reliable, and soooo friendly with a smile as an added value for the guests. We spent 5 days and 4 nights and we wished we could have stood for 2 weeks. The experience is just great, did I mention the free SPA? it is one of the best SPA I have ever had. I think its called Bella Isa SPA.

Anyways, for sure I'm coming back...this time longer, say 2 weeks.

Room Tip: All rooms are good. You can choose the suite that has no building obstruction of the sea view.

“A really nice resort in Boracay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 January 2012

My family and I (husband and 7 year old daughter) stayed at Monaco for our Christmas holiday. I purposely picked a resort that was off the beaten path because I had heard from friends who had travelled to Boracay previously that the White Beach area can be very noisy at night a bit difficult to sleep if you happen to be next a location with lots of loud music and party-goers.

Monaco did not disappoint in this way, it was a lovely, well-kept, quiet resort. As prior reviewers have mentioned the shuttle service is excellent and necessary considering that it is a good 10 minute drive to D'Mall, especially in the evenings when traffic is particularly congested. We did not feel that we missed any of the ambiance of White Beach by staying at this location.

We had a one bedroom suite with an extra bed for my daughter, the housekeeping staff did a great job of keeping up the room, which when we arrived was clean, fresh and really big. We had a great view of the ocean from the huge balcony and never tired of watching the kite surfers in the bay outside. The pool was wonderful, very clean, though it could have been a bit warmer for my tastes. The jacuzzi was broken when we first arrived, but we mentioned it and it was fixed immediately. The hotel has 3 kayaks for your use as well as a jet-boat for rental. You can jet boat off of White Beach, but this is a nice amenity if you are hanging at the resort for the day and want to do some water activities without trekking to the beach. The price for rental is comparable to what you'd pay over at White Beach. We used the kayaks and paddled in the bay one afternoon as the tide was just coming in, the water is so clear and pretty tranquil when the wind dies down that you can really enjoy all of the fantastic sea life below.

The hotel has space reserved at Station 3 in front of Coco Loco restaurant for hotel guests. There is a shuttle that will take you there and it is about a 4 minute ride down the hill. We found this end of the beach to be wonderful and we ended up walking the entire of White Beach several times and really like the more quiet atmosphere of our location. Plus, if you're into snorkeling, about 500 meters down the beach is a great reef that you can walk to from Station 3 and see all kinds of great sea creatures. Sunday, who is the staff person from Monaco at the beach is wonderful, attentive and kind.

The best thing about Monaco above all else is the staff. They are so accommodating and very helpful. Whatever we needed or asked for they were there to help us out. Every morning when we came to breakfast, we received the warmest hellos and good mornings that felt very sincere. The chef took a liking to my daughter and several days prepared her special pancakes and on her last day presented her with chocolates to take home.

My only negative with this resort is the food. We ate breakfast here every morning and had one dinner on our last night because we were just too tired to go down to D'Mall. The food was passable, but not fantastic. There was a huge variety for every taste and included all of the standard Filipino and Western fare, but some days the cooked things just missed the mark. But truthfully, we found that throughout Boracay, this is not a "foodies" paradise.

Also, we used the hotel transport to get us over to Caticlan. It was a bit more pricey then if we had used trikes and the public ferry, but they walked us right through the process and we had our own speed boat to get us across the water. From the time we left the resort until we arrived at the Caticlan airport it was 15 minutes. The staff handled all of our bags for us and made sure they didn't leave until we were through the airport security and on our way. I would recommend if you want the personal touch, then spend the php 1500/person round trip and have the hotel handle your airport transport.

If we were to return to Boracay, we would certainly stay at Monaco again.

Room Tip: If you don't want to walk a lot, because there are lots of stairs here as the resort is built in...
