I did wonder why this Hotel had plenty of rooms left when all the others were almost fully booked, and recon it's due to it's location. I couldn't fault the actual room, apart from the wall aircon was a bit noisy but realy cool, room was huge with balcony and golf view. It took 2 hours to get a phone and a room safe, they tried 3 different phones before one worked, and get this one - housekeeping walked in with the room safe under his arm, put it down in the wardrobe shelf and said I need to wait 15 minutes before using it as it was resetting, so it actually took almost 2 hours to get settled into the room and we got to the pool at 4pm just as the sun was going behind the clouds. I have never been anywhere in the world where your room safe can be picked up and walked out the door with, how can this be a 4 star hotel. The hassle of getting the shuttle buses to the pool or the bar is just not worth the bother, and then you have to get another bus into the town, so quite honestly don't stay here unless you want to spend most of your day waiting for busses and can take 15-20 mins just to get to the pool. It was even a hassle getting pool towels and they charge you for them as well, the main part of beachy wasn't that nice either, and sea not suitable for kids. We aksed for alarm call and that never happened, receptions excuse was phones were not working, but yet there were 4 staff at the bus shelter outside our room who had radios, so why didn't reception radio them and get them to go wake us up, my guess would be no forward thinking which happens quite a lot in Boracay. On check-out their credit card machine system was not working, and I had to almost jump over the counter to get the guy to give me a manual copy to sign, and he wanted me to sign a blank copy - "I don't think so buddy". Anyway as I say unless you like golf (I do but didn't have time) don't stay here it's not that impressive, and apart from the restaurant staff, the overall service is pretty poor, or maybe the staff just need more training on what service is. We stayed at Patio Pacific as well, and although it's a smaller hotel the location is 2 mins from beach, and the staff were superb, although like most downtown Hotels most of the town surroundings could do with a mega influx of pesos to clean it up, and it's a shame because they have one of the nicest beaches I have seen, but nice beach or not I wouldn't go back, and you need to weigh up if it's worth the hassle of getting there, especially in thos dangerous, un sea worth boats that take you from Caticlan Port to Boracay.
