Friendly staff, nice breakfast, great customer service!

The location is in the city of Tagbilaran, good if you are planning tours in the island. To Alona Beach it's a longer ride, around 30-40 minutes with Tricycle and costs 200 - 300 P, so affordable if you don't find anything closer.

The room is generally "clean", but old and damaged furniture, budget style - okay for that price. But the ants in the bathroom were definitely not okay! Especially when there were more and more. Wi-Fi is free but sometimes it doesn't really work well. I was just happy to get out of this after 3 nights!! Without the ants it's okay but this was not what I wanted.

The ony positive aspect was the stuff. Totally friendly and helping, thumbs up!

Breakfast is more or less the same choice of 5 dishes. Don't expect much, then it's okay. For 3 nights it's fine. You can have continental breakfast with toast, butter, eggs or filipino with rice and beef.

So to sum it up: if you are a backpacker and only need a place to sleep and taking a shower, this is okay and service is great. If you are looking for really clean rooms and have a certain standard, spend more money and take something else! I definitely won't come back. (but I must say I'm more used to 4 or 5 * hotels)

The pick up from the pier was on time and free. We had a 2-night reservation but unfortunately, when my husband and I got there, they only reserved 1 night for us, and they were fully booked for the following night. The breakfast was okay. The room however had an unpleasant smell. The shower was terrible, it's hot for 1 minute, then it's real cold for the next 10 minutes, making it hard to take a good, hot shower. The sink in the bathroom was so far at the corner, making it inconvenient to brush your teeth, and the drainage is bad. The air-conditioning unit was difficult to manage. It is directed towards the beds. What we liked the most was the warmth of the front desk. And I think that's it.

LOCATION. The hotel is located in the outskirts of Tagbilaran far from any points of interest but I cannot say it's important for the Bohol Island. Bohol is a place where you arrive by air, take a driver for the whole day, spend 6 to 8 hours driving around the island to see its sights, then sleep in the hotel, then go back to the airport. Vest Pension is just 5 minutes by car to the airport of Tagbilaran, they have own shuttle bus so it's very convenient. To go to the center of Tagbilaran you should take a tricycle (10 minutes to go). So generally the location is quite acceptable.

STAFF. I believe this hotel is a family business and we did really feel like we stayed in some family's house in a village. The atmosphere is very warm and friendly.

ROOMS. Rooms are old-style with rather shabby furniture and wooden floors. At the same time all these aspects don't annoy but add more points to the village-style atmosphere. So rooms are not modern but very nice.
One important feature is that some rooms (at least one deluxe room) don't have windows. You should consider it while making your booking.

BREAKFAST. You'll be offered to choose one of for options for the continental breakfast. Omelet was very delicious both mornings we had there.

GENERAL IMPRESSION. We did really love staying in the hotel. It's a very good place to stay for a 1-day Bohol Island visit.
