“Paradise”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 February 2012

Out of all the places in my own country, it's in Amanpulo that I'd choose to go back to any day (provided that I have enough funds)! I consider it my own paradise! We stayed there for 4 days, and we would've stayed for more if it weren't for work. I also happened to celebrate my 20th birthday here, and it was definitely one of the best birthdays I've ever had!

To get there, you'll be flying via private coach owned by the resort. They have their own lobby at the small airport around the NAIA area, and they serve you complimentary welcome drinks and biscuits, too! Upon arrival in the island, we were warmly welcomed by their managers (such a warm couple) and our own assistant going to our casitas. It's very commendable that all their staff knows all their guest. They'd call you by your registered name even though you haven't met them before! Their powder white sand beach and clear blue waters looked unreal! Had to slap myself twice (well, not really) to really believe what I'm seeing.

We decided to have a little picnic by the sandbar, and it was the most unbelievable experience ever. All alone in a vast sandbar wherein the sea felt like eternity, then being offered shipload of food (we thought it was just an afternoon snack, it was enough to feed us the entire day!) and feeling like you could live there forever, nothing could ever surpass that experience for me. (And it cost us almost half the total amount we paid for during check out, too :P)

That same day, we asked for dinner to be set up by the shore. They set up these twenty red basket candles to serve as my 20th birthday candles! And they cooked an entire lechon (roast) big in front of us. The food was really good, and we had an awful lot to consume. The staff were too courteous to reject our offer of eating with us. And even after the entire affair, when I finally went back to my room, some of their crew came knocking at my window and started singing and serenading for my birthday, together with a whole bunch of cakes and desserts! And what more, I received a present and a greeting card from no other than the managers themselves! I felt very grateful.

Although there was something that happened while we were on our way to the plane, I would definitely go back in a heartbeat! Planning to go there with my boyfriend, or for a honeymoon. Absolutely the best resort experience I've ever had! TAKE ALL MY MONEY! I wanna go back!

Room Tip: Choose the beachfront casitas! You have an instant access to the beach from there.

“Words won't do justice...”

My husband took us here for our 20 year wedding anniversary. When we arrived we were speechless. From the moment the airplane lands to the moment you depart - you are treated like kings & queens. Every staff called us by name. The sights around this place are stunning. If you are looking for a romantic, quiet, white beach, clear blue water getaway - this is your destination. Kayaking around the whole island was a perfect afternoon. The food in each of the restaurants is nothing less than perfectly fresh & delicious! The room was huge, gorgeous, super comfy & VERY clean. Snorkeling was great - unfortunately there is a lot of dead coral in the area which is sad - but it's still very fun & lots of sea life variety. I highly recommend the picnic lunch - the food they prepare is stunning. This place is expensive but if you want to make a lasting memory it's worth every single penny.

Room Tip: The beach side rooms are more $ but SO worth it....steps from your private beach.

“Absolutely first-class”

Having been to the Aman Khora, which is a dump but has received ecstatic reviews, and having seen all the Amanpulo reviews, I was half fearing the place would not live up to its build up. However, for once all the hype is true - the place is really fantastic! Staff was amazing in attending to our every wish (even going to the point of getting balut sent in from Manila just because I said I had never tried it). They have a trick of knowing exactly who you are and not asking you to sign any bill in any of the restaurants and they know when you are out of your room so that they can have it cleaned when you are away - amazing little touches that you find nowhere else. On top of that, the setting is stunning and the activities could not be better organised. Don't miss it!

“Was this a dream?”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 January 2012

It has been just over two months since my wife and I returned and it all feels like some fantasy island far far away that my wife and I had dreamt up.

If you're reading this, then you would have or will read all the other reviews on here that discuss in details everything from the transfers, the golf carts and the food. I too read all those reviews and the 'pulo' fulfilled all our expectations and then some.

We stayed for six nights with the Romance Package and the highlight definitely was our wedding blessing and sunset cruise, followed by dinner on Gary's Nest. That evening with the ambiance and backdrop of the beach is something we will remember forever. Photos are shown to friends and family and we wish they could have been there to appreciate the sheer beauty of the place.

We had stayed the year before at Amanjena and the service and attention to detail at this resort was just as good.

Here are my tips:

1). We stayed in a hilltop villa but were limited to using its balcony to enjoy the views due to the insects biting away. Opt to stay at the beach villas but beware that a small pathway leads you to the beach. I believe the view is not clear here but at least you have easy access. My wife and I loved our hilltop but sometimes after a workout, those stairs up were never ending!

2). Golf carts are awesome. I want one now!

3). Tennis courts are great but when you throw free tennis lessons with coaches, it makes it a little bit sweeter. They even provide rackets and tennis shoes!

4). I did my open water course here and the dives I did were amazing. Saw turtles and a reef shark and stingrays! Great place to learn to dive.

5). In room dining and the way Aman do it is unrivalled. And it costs nothing extra!

If you're thinking of going here, Maldives or Seychelles, make the decision we did and choose Amanpulo. It will not disappoint and there is something so exclusive, so unique when staying with Aman, that reinforced the reason why we chose to stay here and not go to other high-end,luxury beach resorts.........Aman brings it!

“Absolutely stunning!! Surreal experience!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 December 2011

Went to Amanpulo in February 2010 with my mother and sister... Stayed in Amanpulo for a total of 4 days, 3 nights...Rented the 1 br villa... which includes a pavilion and a private pool.. we also had our own chef and butler... I highly recommend Jeff our butler!!

Amanpulo is just absolutely breathtaking... a surreal experience for me and my family!
The beach was gorgeous with its white sand.. probably one of the best sand beaches I have ever seen!!

Service is impeccable and truly at its finest, typical of most Aman resorts ive been to... Rooms are always clean and stunning... having our own chef cook our meals, even if not on their menu, was great!!!

Gym was great, although I hear they built a new gym at a different location (the one I went to was adjacent to the tennis court).. I would love to go back and check it out.. I hear the view is breathtaking!!

The general manager, I forgot her name already but she was absolutely friendly and warm and she was probably one the GM that I had the longest chat/conversation with... The staff was cordial and warm... The assistant manager I forgot his name already since this was back in February 2010 was also very nice and always checked with us on a daily basis...

I didnt wanna leave the island because it was just so beautiful!!! I couldnt believe such gem was right smack in the Philippines!!! Boracay is dull compared to the beauty of Amanpulo/Pamalican Island!!!!

We island hopped around Cuyo Island and Manamoc Island in our own private yacht where most of the staff reside with their respective families... It was an awesome experience.. Jeff prepared our lunch in a little hut hidden well by the mangroves...

Restaurant food was ok.. It wasnt memorable, we ordered a lot of dine or if not our chef cooked for us...

It was hard to leave the beautiful island but all good things must come to an end at some point.. so my short journey to Amanpulo was a truly memorable and one of a lifetime experience for me... I will absolutely come back again and again...
