I made a reservation as early as January 23, 2007. The booking was for a 3D/2N on April 5-7, 2007. I thought everything was ok. But on the last week of march, i was informed by the travel agent that the resort called them & said that they are fully-booked on those days. It's either we'll be rebooked on April 7-9 to have the same rate as what was previously agreed on or if we insist on April 5-7, we have to pay them an additional Php 6,000. Very professional people huh!! Informing us after 2 months we made our reservation. Why didn't they informed us on the day we reserved & gave the payment??? So, we have no choice but get the rebooking on April 7-9 to avoid the additional charges that they want us to pay them (which in the first place was not our fault). We got there before 11am (Aprl 7th). They said that there are no available rooms yet so they asked us to wait. We ate lunch at their restaurant. After more than 2 hrs, they finally gave us a room. And guess what? They gave us fresh towels after 6hrs when we checked in. How many? Only 2 small towels! We booked for 4 adults & 2 kids and they gave us 2 SMALL TOWELS! And the bathrooms? Their ads say that all rooms are equipped with hot water? NOPE! Not our bathroom. And mind you, our bathroom don't have ventilation. That's why the smell was not so appealing. My daughter feels queasy whenever she goes to the toilet. And the aircon unit? ---- it's too noisy. It's like you're riding a motor boat. My sister-in-law whose bed was near the aircon unit didn't slept well. Actually all of us because the room was just small. Then here comes dinner time. I went to their resto around 6pm to ask if we could have a table for 6 for dinner. They said that they could arrange it & ask their staff to bring up a table for us. That's fine with me. But when we went back around 7pm, there's no table for us. The table that was SUPPOSEDLY BROUGHT UP FOR US was given to another group. And yes, they didn't do anything not until i got mad & talked to the manager (or owner) of the place. You see, i think she's the owner & yet she didn't do anything. As i have observed there, you must be a family friend or a bigtime personality before they would entertain you & treat you nicely. And guess what time we were able to have our table & ate dinner? It's almost 8pm! My kids were really whining & crying beacuse they are already starving. We have no choice but wait because that's the only place we can eat dinner at that time. The next day, we hired somebody to bring us out of the resort; to go to church & go around the town; and of course eat out. And what do their ads say? That there is a FREE SERVICE VEHICLE to go whereever you like? Of course not! We have to pay for that service. My horror story can go on because our bad experience from that resort did not end on our 2nd day. It continued til the last day. I was really glad when we checked out last monday morning. And guess what? On our last day the room light got busted! If we open the door, all the big mosquitoes will come in. So, we just open the bathroom door to have light. Which as i have said earlier, the smell coming from the cr was not so appealing. But since it's our last day, we just endured it. Oh well, we're leaving anyway. I don't have the strength to complain nor argue with them anymore. My family & i were really glad when we left the place. AND I PROMISED MYSELF THAT WE (AND ALL MEMBERS OF MY FAMILY) WON'T GO BACK TO THAT RESORT EVER!!!

one of the BEST beach in Puerto Galera! i love this place. i will recommend this place to everyone :)

Encenada beach resort in Palangan, Puerto galera is located at the best beach in puerto galera. The beach is almost as gorgeous as Boracay for me. HOWEVER, I don't recommend you stay at Encenada. Our experience there was quite horrible. We were the only guests at the time. There was no electricity (therefore, no hot water). The manager did warn us about this. the generator was on only from 6 pm to midnight. The aircon was quite loud and made a horrible sound. It did not cool off the room at all. When the generator was cut off at midnight, we were all miserable from the heat, bed bugs, mosquitoes. My daughter woke up with several bed bug bites on her arms.
The staff were very friendly.
But the rooms are BADLY in need of renovation. We had no fresh bar of soap in the bathroom. What greeted us in the bathroom were these 5 USED small bars of soaps, neatly lined up on top of the toilet. weird sight if you ask me.
To top it all of, on our last meal at the resort, I requested 1 whole fried chicken. The chicken was fried WHOLE. and served WHOLE (not cut like in a normal restaurant but whole with the neck still there) and guess how much this cost? P1,155 ($22). Being a Manila resident (where a whole roasted chicken can be bought at P220 in the supermarkets) this was shocking and upsetting to me. I mean we ordered the seafood platter at P600 (crab, mussels, fish, squid) so to be given a bill for P1,155 is quite shocking. If the manager said thats the price I never would have ordered it. I've eaten at the restaurants at 5 star hotels & they never had a chicken dish for P1,155. OUTRAGEOUS & QUITE INSULTING. DON'T STAY IN THIS RESORT. (oh, did I mention seeing the girlfriend/date of one of the employees staying at one of the cottages?)
