Location can't be beat. Set back from the road a little it's a short walk or taxi ride to most places you will want to go to in Yogyakarta.

Rooms are large but getting a little old now, a bit gloomy as well. The rooms facing the back do get the full blast of the call to prayers several times a day...

Good breakfast buffet with friendly staff.

There are actually 2 Mutiara Hotels located in Malioboro. You should get the newer one or, some say, the second/south one. They are only separated by one building. Staff service was friendly. Checked in with no hassle. Room quality, good. Spacious and with a tub in the bathroom. But elevator needs renovation. Breakfast was quite nice, but need more variety. Since, it is in the middle of Malioboro street, going around and about is easy. Just go out and find what you're looking for. All and all, it's good choice to start your adventure in Jogja. A bit subjective, but I think it's only second to an Ibis Hotel just within walking distance from there.

It was a very standard hotel but staffs are very helpful.
The bathroom is too old. I got room like a hotel room.
Nothing special here except the perfect location in Malioboro Street.
I think there's other budget hotel in this location with same price and better rooms.
