“Oldie but goody. Good rooms. Breakfast could be better.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 December 2011

Stayed here for one night in Dec. 2011 with a group of families. We rented two cottages. The cottages, I assumed like others there, were pretty old but very nicely and cleanly kept. Rooms, beds, kitchen, bathroom; just about everything in the cottage was clean.

The surroundings were also kept nice and clean. There was a kids play area in the middle of the complex with see-saw and swings. Also available bicycles, tricycles, and quadcycles to rent.

The complex was located near many restaurants so don't be bound to the hotel's restaurants.

Breakfast provided at the hotel's restaurant was good, variety wise. However, the food was practically had no tastes; very plain. Quite disappointing.

Overall, the experience was very good.

“the only beach cottage in jakarta”

This is not the first time we stay at this hotel. Yet, the reason we stay here is because this is the only cottage where my kids can play with beach sand in Jakarta city. The room itself is old. Not too well maintained. There is some dirty spot on the bedsheet. Breakfast is poor. Only a few range of food. And even more. Because today, there are foods that are not there. Only the food tag on the table. The tags
are pancake and at the other table croissant and pastry. But no pancake and no croissant I can find.

“Probably best choice for easy access”

Hotel seems a bit neglected but it was overall a good stay if you take precaution against the mosquito invasion at night. Service was over the top and staff very friendly. Food and catering service was also very satisfactory. Hotel very busy over weekends. Area filled with fun parks and famous clothes plaza mall very close. Internet a bit of a problem.

“Nice escape without distant travel”

We stayed here because my father-in-law had a gathering with his colleagues in Ancol. So, he decided to book a 3-bedroom villa for the family. The place was clean. Frankly, I didn't expect such a nice place, since I haven't been here for ages. And the last memory I had was that this place was over valued. But I guess thay have been doing major renovation. The pool and some part of the restaurant are also undergoing some works. Our place was a 2-storey villa with 3 bathrooms, living room, kitchen, small bar, dining room. Interior and amenities were beautiful. The 3rd bedroom was quite odd, because it had a glass-sliding door without drapes. But everything else is fine. The location is like a clustered-townhouse, with sea-creature names for each of the villas. It is inside the Ancol theme park complex. So, you can drive/walk anywhere within. Or you could just stay in and jog/swim/play at the Putri Duyung. If you do not wih a fussy travel and just be in town, but still having a "beach getaway", then give this place a try.
