From the moment we arrived we wished we had not left the Shangri la . The hotel is more like a budget hotel in many respects. They could not find our reservation and rather then invite us to wait in the club lounge (as we paid for club rooms, waste of money). They made us stand at reception for 30 minutes all the time asking us if we are sure that we booked our stay at JW Marriott Hotel. When they did find it, no apology just gave us our key and left us to find our way to our room. On check and during booing with wotif.com we asked for non smoking room and even though we confirm this at check in and where told we were given a non smoking room we then find the whole floor and room is heavy with smoke and that we are on a smoking floor. Another hour later we are moved to a non smoking room that smells wet and damp. This is what we were given for USD300.00.
Room was not clean* had hair on toilet seat, in the beds and dust on surfaces. Club room is very bad value, apart from a couple of good staff most are young, under trained and uninterested. You can get much better value for USD300.00 in Jakarta.
To make matters worse after a day out in Jakarta we arrived back at the hotel and they asked us when we are to check out as we have only booked for two days. After another complaint they confirmed they have yet again messed up and confirm we have already paid for another night.
Do not stay here! Y will regret it!!!!!
