We have just returned (myself, my daughter and niece) from a 2 night stay. It didn't get off to a great start, when we arrived the reception staff told us they had us booked to arrive on the previous day, then they showed us to a triple room that would be no bigger than my bathroom with only 2 single beds!!! After travelling all day I was in no mood to be mucked about and insisted that we at least have a king room with a pull out bed. That room was only marginally bigger but we made do for 2 nights. The hotel is a 2 minute walk from Block M shopping mall, which is a great place to spend a few hours. The hotel is spotless and quite cosy but they did have some renovations going on whilst we were there. The pool is small (the website makes it seem much much bigger) but is in a lovely setting on level 6 with nice views around the city. We had a 3.30am start to the day when we left and the hotel provided us with a 'take away' breakfast which came in very handy.

Until the Gran Mahakam gets a proper bar with draft beer etc. I would not recommend this as a business hotel or a weekend getaway, for that matter. Once a nice hotel for business with a conveniently located lounge on the first floor, the lounge is now closed and the hotel staff could not give me a date for the new lounge to be completed. I had invited a collegue to stay at the hotel for a business meeting in the area and we were both amazed that the hotel would shut down the lounge before opening a new lounge. What the new lounge will be like is anyone's guess.

The whole ambiance of the hotel has changed, the lobby now seems tiny and not in keeping with its supposed 5 star rating. I will certainly recommend that none of my colleagues or my guests coming into Jakarata stay here in the future. It,s too bad-it used to be nice lobby and lounge area. There was a piano bar and a large cozy room for siting and having a cocktail or a light snack. There is now a small alcove located on the second floor which just doesn't work. What a shame.

This is a small hotel but very very good. It's in a residential area and the atmosphere is very calming and peaceful. Right opposite the street are good restaurants. And a few minutes' walk away is another really good chinese restaurant, can't remember the name but I can definitely walk there.
Service is good. Room is great. Laundry is efficient. Decor is wonderfully homely but grand
Just ignore the size of the hotel and you will love it.

I think this is really a great place to stay in whenever a person is in Jakarta Selatan.

We have stayed at this hotel twice last year and once the year before. We booked the suit through Agoda. It is a great hotel and close to the shopping mall. There are local restaurants and the airport bus is available just down the road.

The staff always remember us when we return. We were able to organise a special afternoon tea for some friends. The hotel can be busy pre Christmas with many parties and weddings.
