The facilities were great, but the service was even better. The staff was very welcoming, very polite. Every time I passed by I was greeted with a smile, as if I was a VIP. And I did nothing to look the part. They're doorman never slacked off (big plus in my book); the bell boy, the receptionists, the security all made a very good impression on me - very professional, very courteous, and with a sincere attitude. Security was visible and non threatening. They were disciplined, yet extremely polite. It made the hotel seem very legit and very safe when you got 4 guards on the border of the property with a gate preventing access to just anyone who wants to enter, even if it's not necessary as the area seems safe enough.
Communication was a non issue as everyone I came in contact with spoke excellent English and did so with a smile. I couldn't speak Bahasa and was worried about getting to the hotel, so they arranged for a pickup. Eri was very personable, very helpful. The driver and Eri presented me with complimentary water and wet towels, the latter which really helped relieve me as I was feeling a bit dirty due to the humidity and warmth after arriving. Oh, and the chef was able to make something not on the menu on my request. Granted this will not always be the case for all of us, but it goes to show how far out of the way they're willing to go to accommodate to your tastes.
Management obviously got it right when training and selecting they're staff, and I genuinely appreciated it. My stay was very enjoyable, and I would stay there again.
Facilities:
I booked for a one person unit and got a 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom unit as standard. Very spacious. Everything was clean and perfectly folded. Minor wear and tear stains on living room upholstery, but all the bedrooms were spotless. The beds were super comfortable, high thread count linen? The LG TV was new and of excellent quality, the choice of channels were also pretty good, almost stayed another day more than I should watching Muay Thai Challenger on AXN. There's only 3 elevators and they can be a bit slow, however. Breakfast was pretty good for what it was, buffet style, omelettes made to order, toast, donuts, croissants, varieties of indonesian food (main courses(, salad bar, appetizers, etc. Dinner was better quality in terms of selection and flavor, but that's to be expected as your paying for it whereas the breakfast it's complimentary.
Location:
There's Plaza Semanggi right next door about a 2 min walk, allows you to get what you need. Taxis are readily available upon request at the concierge's desk, allowing you more freedom to explore the nicer entertainment venues like Grand Indonesia, Plaza Senayang, and so on, for about $2.5 USD each way, about 15 min ride if I remember correctly... The area itself is pretty safe, but I didn't go exploring too much as I had places to go and people to meet, but it was quiet in my suite. Kinda out of the hustle and bustle, but real close to the action. Best of both worlds.
