“Bliss......”

We stayed for three nights in the Hibiscus room. Beautiful sweeping views of the valley below. Loved listening to the river at night time as we went to sleep. No a/c but we didn't miss it! The fan along with the lovely breezes made sleeping very pleasant. The room is at the end and has the best views by far! We left the windows open and never had an issue with bugs aside from the occassional ant or mosquito. The staff are amazing and very attentive. Breakfast was something we looked forward to, very yummy! I especially liked the afternoon tea which I always enjoyed on our balcony on the day bed. Alam indah is a very affordable but magical place.. you really feel like you are in the jungle somewhere. Its a short walk into town or a very quick scooter ride through the monkey forest. We have stayed at Alam shanti but definitely prefer alam indah..mainly for the views. The pool was beautiful too. I wish I was there now....

“Beautiful place to stay - great value”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 February 2012

We have been going to Bali since 1997 and Alam Indah and its sister hotel Alam Jiwa are our favorite places to stay. The hotels are built in traditional Balinese style and are set in beautiful surroundings. Staff are very helpful and attentive and the location is close enough to town to walk but far enough away that you feel removed and more isolated than the places in town. We have stayed with our baby and without and find both hotels to be great each time. We think these hotels provide the best value in all of Bali.

“Peaceful, relaxing and a great start to Bali for us !”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 February 2012

I stayed here with my husband for 3 nights and recommend to at least 3 nights to truly enjoy this special place.
We Stayed in 2 different rooms whilst on our stay and only got the booking because someone had cancelled [Yah for us]. I would definitely try to book so you don't miss out.
We stayed in the Cengkeh room which was simple but great - No bar fridge, great balcony to sit on and have a drink and relax.
Also stayed in the pumpkin house which is 2 story and really cute and loads of space.
I think whatever room you got you would be happy with as they all would have an aspect others wouldn't have.
All staff are amazing and nothing too much trouble !
Can order a drink and they will bring it to you in your room any time.
Breakfasts are yum and especially loved the banana juice. This was a real treat at the time as bananas were still $12 a kilo at home so I made sure I had these whenever I could.

We loved the pool and If we could do our holiday again I would go to town early in the morning and later in the evening and would have used the pool in the middle of the day to cool off.
Found walking in Ubud town very hot ! I think timing is the key depending on time of year of course.
You can get a shuttle into town but there is a walk you can do through the monkey forest which literally takes about 10 minutes but is also shaded so a nice way to get out of the heat if you need to.
'Just watch the monkeys cute - but kinda freaked me out at the same time'.
There are some lovely restaurants within a 2 minute walk and loved one so much we ate there twice.
Actually every meal we ate in Ubud was fantastic !
Would definitely stay here again and recommend to others.
Hope to go back with my family one day soon.

Room Tip: Book early and try the banana juice.

“Amazing Value!”

We recently spent 4 nights here and can't speak highly enough of this wonderful hotel. We stayed in a huge well appointed room and enjoyed every minute. The staff were wonderful, they even offer a free pick up and drop off service for anywhere in Ubud. The breakfast was included and delicious. If there was one thing to complain about it was that the bed was a little hard for me but nothing major. The pool was great with wonderful views and the grounds are quite spectacular. Can't wait to go back!

“Would stay here again (already have!)”

We just went back to Alam Indah in September, and stayed in the Gardenia Suite (the 2 bedroom 2 floor villa right by the pool). The room was amazing, and the service there was great. Quiet even though it was right by the pool and you could see the pool from the outdoor sitting area. They brought us breakfast to our room each morning which was nice. Only complaint was that we couldn't get a late checkout due to the next occupants coming in right after us. Would stay here again and again.

For those of you who haven't stayed here, it is a 10 min walk through the monkey forest to the town from the hotel (take a flashlight at night). It has a jungle feel because from the rooms it is surrounded by jungle. I prefer the upstairs rooms, or the suite we stayed in this time. It is quite quiet too.

Room Tip: Choose an upstairs room so you can view the jungle from your sitting area.
