We stayed two days in the Taman Sari to do snorkelling trips to Pulan Menjangan, which is fabulous - a must if you are in that part of Bali. However with the Taman Sari, there is an odd vibe in the rooms and they are oddly laid out due to the configuration of the outside bath area. The hotel rooms are pricey for what they are in the high season and the mosquitos are a nightmare. Do use mosquito repallants at night as the hotel mosquito repellants in the room and on the patio are no match for the persistence of the local mosquitos. We also had a mouse/rat come in the room at night and bite through a sealed plastic bag and the packaging of some dried fruit. The reception staff were mortified the next morning and very polite but no apologies offered -probably a response about 'saving face'. Otherwise the restaurant, beach location etc are all lovely but Pondok Sari is cheaper, with similar beach location and has better restaurant and worth a stay instead of Taman Sari.
