Researched this hotel on the internet and by phoning hem directly (in Chinese, so there could be no miscommunication). Was informed the rooms had minibars and irons and ironing boards. Was also informed the hotel had room service, a sauna. swimming pool and a fitness center. When we arrived, there were signs everywhere displaying these facilities.
Upon arrival, the hotel was filthy and smelt rotten. There was no room service. We were told there was no coke, even though we'd seen it downstairs. We didn't mind too much, figuring we'd have a bath and sauna tomorrow. Next morning, we couldn't have baths because there were no bathplugs, and the sauna and fitness centre and swimming pool did not exist. We were told there were no bathplugs in the whole hotel.
I demanded a refund on the night we had spent there, which was denied. I demanded to speak to the manager, and was told he wasn't it. 5 minutes later I was told he was in after all. We argued for 2 hours, with him and the receptionist being incredibly rude. They were also very stupid, kept repeating why hadn't we said something the night before? Duh: because we didn't know about the lack of facilities at that point; after all, they were detailed in the elevators and room information! Eventually got 100RMB off our bill.
It's easily the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. If it was the only hotel in Nanjing, I'd cancel my holiday and go elsewhere. The staff lie and the hotel is as stinky as the service. I cannot believe they lied about all their facilities! They even called a random passer-by in off the street, to see if he could speak English and translate, even though the receptionist's English was very good. How unprofessional!
It's rated as being 3-star but as there is an option to pay by the hour, the only 3-star rating it deserves is a 3-star brothel. What a dump! If I could give it a minus rating, even that would be too generous!
