This used to be one of my favourite Italian restaurants in Hong Kong -- despite being slightly overpriced, I find the food to be good, well-made and the gnocchi is excellent.
However, I went here for New Year's Eve and while the food was okay, the restaurant's policies were terrible. We finished our meal at just after midnight and we didn't leave the place until nearly 3 a.m. However, Cinecitta had decided to invoke a policy where they charge wine and champagne by the glass instead of by the bottle. So when eight people each had a little taste of a bottle of red, we were charged for eight glasses instead of one bottle. Really unacceptable for a restaurant of that standard.
There were 12 of us and the bill kept changing from one price to another price to another price. Cinecitta also "lost" a deposit put down by one of the people in the group, only to miraculously find it later.
It's appalling to have to spend two hours during New Year's to pay a bill. It really should not be that complicated.
A month ago, I would have given this place four stars. Today, if there was an option for a negative star, I would do so.
