Good hotel with a nice south island location. The subway station is close by and is the best way to move around the islands.
Clean room, nice services (like the free bus to the Metro station).

I picked the Ramada Hong Kong because I received the impression that it had easy access to the MTR and I was familiar with the Ramada brand.
I arrived in HK and took the airport express to the HK Station and took the taxi to the Ramada. Check in was quick. The room was small but clean. The room had two twin beds that were very basic Ikea type beds. The mattress was too hard for my taste but someone told me that firmer mattresses are typical in Asia. I am not sure if that is a factual statement. The room did have a pot to make tea and your basic toiletries.
I did stay for one night so I did not have many interactions with the staff. They did help me out with directions.
I was disappointed with the location of this hotel. It is rather far from the MTR, it is not within walking distance. You have to take a tram to the MTR. There are mini-mart type stores near the hotel but there is not much to see in the immediate vicinity.
Overall the Ramada HK is a decent hotel but I have some reservations about recommending this hotel primarily because of it's location.
I had to cancel my trip due to hospitalisation of my mother. They charged me one night penalty of $1057 even though I had notified them beforehand by telephone 3 days prior to arrival that I had to cancel my trip and they took the money from my card there and then. I subsequently obtained a letter from the hospital to prove my mother had been hospitalised and I emailed it to them; they did not reply. I followed it up a month later with a phone call and the manager said it was their policy to charge a night for 'no show'. I explained I had let them know 3 days prior, and she retorted is was less than the 4 days required (actually the terms was 1 week). I mentioned the letter and she said it doesn't matter. I asked why they didn't respond to my email giving them the date and time it was sent, and after a lot of 'I have to check' and umming and ahring, she didn't give me an answer as to why they did not reply.
I couldn't claim it on the credit card either, as my girlfriend paid for the flights to Hong Kong, and the credit card I used said the flights had to be booked with the same card as the hotel!!
For our first trip to Hong Kong, we were looking for a decent hotel that fit our budget. Ramada Hong Kong met the requirements.
Location wise, I would rate this hotel pretty high - there is easy access to cabs and trams, while MTR stations and the Airport Express station are not too far away.
Our room was on the 27th floor with an excellent view of the harbour. The room per se was basic, but extremely tidy, spic and span. The bathroom was also tiny, yet neatly laid out.
The shower closet had a leakage which was promptly set right by a middle aged housekeeper.
The bell boys were quite helpful and each time they helped us with the luggage and hailed cabs for us in no time.
Overall excellent value for money!
This Ramada is at the top end of quality for the chain. Staff are efficient and attentive. The location is problematic with no easy access to the MTR. The cafe serves an average buffet breakfast. Rooms are spacious and clean. Views over the water are great! Pillows are rock-hard!
