Spent three nights here in January, one of the smaller hotels in HK. The quirky decor is a bit daunting, but you get used to it. Rooms are small, but are comfortable with the all modern amenities you expect, including free wi-fi. Batthrooms are also small but practical. Didn't try the restaurant, but the bar had a quirky atmosphere and expensive drinks. Breakfast was superb - described as Continental when we booked, but the selection was more than enough for us. We did see freshly-cooked fried eggs being taken to a nearby table but not sure if they were charged extra. Staff all very friendly and helpful.

Location of the hotel is in Kimberley Road, a couple of minutes' walk from Nathan Road, the main thoroughfare through Kowloon, and about 15 minutes' walk from the harbour and 20 minutes to the ferry terminal. We bought a two-day ticket on the hop-on/hop-off bus run by the Big Bus Company and that was superb value at about £36 each. They have staff in their bright red jackets at many of the bus stops, including the rear of the Peninsula hotel (about 10 minutes' walk), and they will sell you the tickets and give you information. The tickets included unlimited travel on the buses for two days, three tour routes including two on HK island, a harbour boat tour, ferry crossings and entrance to several attractions. The hotel is also very near Knutsford Terrace, the local 'eat street', although as you would expect, the restaurants here are quite expensive.

We found HK very interesting, and a must for a stopover if you're changing planes at the airport anyway. The Luxe Manor is a good choice for your stay.

I stayed for one night only in an Executive room at this hotel in Kowloon and was surprised to see its location in Kimberley Road as I must have walked past it many times on previous visits but never saw a hotel – that’s how unassuming the street presence is of the Luxe Manor, Hong Kong.

This boutique hotel will appeal to those who like quirky interior design. The check-in process was smooth and well organized. I took my own cases up to the room while the bell staff and concierge were busy chatting amongst themselves. The room was on the 11th floor and was small. Even for Hong Kong, it was small. It was however exceptionally clean and well maintained.

The décor can best be explained as French, but it was not my cup of tea. There were a couple of things that detracted from the room, one of which was there wasn’t an iron or ironing board. As such I rang housekeeping to see if they could press a shirt for the next day but it was too late for that service but they offered to send up an iron and ironing board which arrived promptly. Makes you think that it might be a good investment to put one in each room.

The bed was nice and firm with good pillows however it was short. I am used to sleeping in a queen size bed comfortably, but this bed was way shorter. I spent the night with my ankles and feet drooping over the end of the bed. This was very uncomfortable and reduced my sleep time immensely as I continuously woke up.

The rain shower was good and hot but due to the design of the shower area the hotel had put in a shower curtain to reduce the water which effectively reduced your available space to almost nothing. As far as I’m concerned there is nothing worse than a cold and wet shower curtain clinging to your legs as you are trying to wash yourself.

All the expectations were met in the room like a safe [large enough to accommodate a laptop], robes, slippers, plenty of power outlets, flatscreen TV with good English and Chinese channels and an easy to set bedside clock!

I ordered in a meal as I had a lot of work to get through which was delivered in a timely manner. The quality of the food was good; however the meal arrived without any pepper or salt shakers. I missed out on having breakfast as I had to leave at 6:00am in the morning. Not only does the buffet commence at 6:30am but so does any room service. This meant I left the hotel without any breakfast which I thought was a bit poor.

Get rid of the shower curtain and come up with another solution to keep water from the tiled floor
Only provided one room key which meant the air conditioning stopped when you left the room
No room service or buffet prior to 6:30am makes for hungry international travelers
No Iron or ironing board

Stayed here for 2 nights this week. Best thing about this hotel was the location right in the middle is downtown Kowloon right in amongst all the action and short walk from Knutsford terrace for all the bars and restaurants and also close to the MTN and ferry point. The rooms although very small were spotlessly clean and very well designed. Did not try the bar or restaurant so could not comment but the breakfast which was included was very good

All staff and service were great. Good location. Nice and clean room. Wifi signal in lobby area is not steady. Internet in business center should be free for hotel guest.
