At 1100 HKD without complimentary breakfast, it was a bit steep for the size and amenities offered. We stayed 4 nights. Room was very clean, the staff was prompt in their service. They offered 2 small bottles of drinking water on the first day. After that every bottle consumed was chargable at 10HKD. Our room was on the 15th floor overlooking the park. The view was nice.
Peak tram is a 15-20 minute downhill walk. Botanical gardens are a 5 minute walk from the hotel. The nearest bus stop is a 10 minute walk along the periphery of the botanical garden. After getting out of the hotel, take a right and walk along the footpath (pavement) till you reach a concrete foot overbridge which takes you on the opposite side of the road and ends inside the botanical garden. You keep walking downward along the path which runs adjacent to the garden. You will pass by the US Consulate and St. Joseph's church. Keep walking down...
The first bus stop down that path is for buses 12 & 12A. Walk a bit ahead to the next stop and you will get bus # 40. All these buses go to Admiralty/ Central. The buses drop you at admiralty bang opposite "The Pacific Place". From here you can catch the MTR to pretty much anywhere in HKG.
For those who are not in a hurry, you can walk from the hotel to Hong Kong park, and go right through the HKG park (not to be confused with the botanical garden) to come out at Admiralty on the other side, from where you can take a bus/MTR and go pretty much anywhere.
The above mentioned route is easy, because you're walking downhill to the bus stop. The same walk back to the hotel is quite a trek, due to the slope. Hence, unless you're young and in good shape, I'd advise taking a cab back from admiralty/ central.
For those who find the 30$ cab fare back to the hotel outrageous, there's a bus (12A I think), which drops you on a road parallel to Mac Donnell road (Robinson road I think) which is uphill to the hotel. So you can then walk down to Macdonnell road. This bus goes around the Botanical garden, taking a somewhat roundabout route. So initially when it reaches the garden, don't get off. Wait for it to go all round and come back to Robinson road.
In summary, getting to sights from the hotel is easy, but getting back is quite a task.
