“Very handy hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 February 2012

So I’d never been to Hong Kong and it was a couple of days before we were due there and all I knew was I was looking for a hotel close to the ferry terminal as we were also going to Macau. Hence, The Royal Pacific. We got to the airport and our booking included return shuttle bus to the airport. All we had to do was look for their booth which was in arrival hall A - booth A02 (Sino Group of Hotels Counter).

We got to the hotel and we were ushered into the Tower side. The check in was quick and efficient. We stayed on the 20th and we had a view of the harbor. The tower side, to me, was quieter than the hotel side. It always seemed chaotic and really busy there. I expected the room to be small but it was a good size. The bathroom had a separate bath and shower which was a bonus. It was always nice to come back in the evening to a turned down room.
We could see the ferry terminal from our room so getting there was just basically to go down the escalators and follow the signs. The touristy magazines in the room came in handy. As I mentioned earlier, I’d not really researched much of what we were going to do. We found a couple of tours in the magazine that we took. One was for a half day tour of Hong Kong Island and it was a 2 for 1 deal. We did the afternoon tour and went to the touristy places in Hong Kong Island.

You seem to get better rates if you go through the hotel’s website. The staff were always ready and willing to help. If they were busy they always acknowledged you and let you know they won’t be long. The concierge was a wealth of knowledge even for little things.

Overall, I really like this place. I would definitely come back again.

Room Tip: harbour view room for sure! Also, book from the hotel's website. They're part of the Sino Gr...

“Good value& very large room for Hk standard”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012

I stayed here primarily as there is a ferry terminal to macau right next to the hotel. The hotel itself is in TST, kowloon side and it is a vast hotel split up of many buildings. We found the rooms very large for HK standard. Vey good price for what u get although decor feels a little dated now as not as modern looking as some of the other hotels i stayed in, such as LKF /Mira.

The loaction of the hotel is excellent as it is on Canton rd, a major road in TST and full of great places to eat& shops. Along from the hotel is the harbour and it is a beautiful walk and amazing view of HK island. As stated before the ferry terminal is right next to hotel so we could check out and within 5mins we could literally board a ferry for Macau...

A nice and good value hotel, although it is just begining to show its age a little.....

“Just another Plain Jane”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2012

I have stayed in 8 hotels in Hong Kong in the last one year and Kowloon side has always been my preferred choice. This time round I tried The Royal Pacific Hotel & Towers. As I arrived past midnight, I booked for the night before and check in was fast. I had originally booked the Premier Plus room in the hotel wing but was upgraded to the towers wing upon arrival. The hotel delivered within my expectation but just didn't leave me with an exceptional wow factor.

I do appreciate their effort to upgrade my room type but find that the staff are just doing their job without much passion. For example, bell counter was tended to but staff had to be asked to help me with luggage, no explanation of hotel facilities or room amenities, no other staff around to meet & greet guest, no turn down service at end of day etc. I got the feeling that guests here used this hotel as base to sleep in and not those that hang around to appreciate what the hotel can offer. There just wasn't any "personal touch".

Wifi was complimentary for 2 log-in per room, easy to navigate the set-up and speed was good for surfing and emailing. Room design at the towers wing is "plain" but up to date, just like any other chain hotel. As I have always stayed in more "designer" hotel, the layout and design of both the lobby and room just shout "plain Jane" to me, but I have already expected that from their website and TA's contributors.

There is an iPhone docking station in room so iPhone users need not bring any charger with them. Smoking floor nor room did not smell bad. Room size is OK and bathroom is considered big in comparison to many hotels in HK.

I would stay here again the next time if the price average out around HKD1200 but if its more, I would probably go back to Hotel Icon or Langham Place as both these hotels delivers more than what I need but otherwise would cost more at around HKD1600.

“Very convenient gateway to China”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 February 2012

Royal Pacific Hotel and Towers is a place I often stay when traveling to China on business. If my business is in the south of China the hotel is very convenient since they have a ferry terminal right in the building. You can take the ferry to numerous ports in China directly from the hotel without the need for taxi, bus, train or subway.
The hotel itself is very clean although the standard rooms are quite small compared to "US" size hotel rooms. Each room is comfortably appointed with high speed internet, in room coffee and mini bar. There are several restaurants on the property but the only one I have tried is Cafe on the Park for breakfast. The food was good with a large selection of western and Chinese foods.

Room Tip: Take the high speed train from Honk Kong International Airport to Kowloon. Cost is $90 HK instead of...

“Reliable and convenient”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 January 2012

I have stayed in this hotel for both business and leisure. It has tow towers - one has small rooms but clean and well appointed. The other wing has an outstanding view of the harbour and the star ferry terminal. Internet connection is fast, the working table already has the adapter so you won't have to call housekeeping. Beds are firm but comfortable and temperature is just right. Concierge is attentive and efficient - several of them are available at the check in counter so not so long a wait. It is quite a busy hotel as it is well located in Kowloon and the complimentary Airport Express bus stops right at the hotel.

Breakfast is also a treat because it is complete and typical for a nice Asian hotel - much variety for differing breakfast eater's taste. The hotel has a link to the ferry terminal to macau and also to the Ocean terminal shopping mall.
