So I’d never been to Hong Kong and it was a couple of days before we were due there and all I knew was I was looking for a hotel close to the ferry terminal as we were also going to Macau. Hence, The Royal Pacific. We got to the airport and our booking included return shuttle bus to the airport. All we had to do was look for their booth which was in arrival hall A - booth A02 (Sino Group of Hotels Counter).
We got to the hotel and we were ushered into the Tower side. The check in was quick and efficient. We stayed on the 20th and we had a view of the harbor. The tower side, to me, was quieter than the hotel side. It always seemed chaotic and really busy there. I expected the room to be small but it was a good size. The bathroom had a separate bath and shower which was a bonus. It was always nice to come back in the evening to a turned down room.
We could see the ferry terminal from our room so getting there was just basically to go down the escalators and follow the signs. The touristy magazines in the room came in handy. As I mentioned earlier, I’d not really researched much of what we were going to do. We found a couple of tours in the magazine that we took. One was for a half day tour of Hong Kong Island and it was a 2 for 1 deal. We did the afternoon tour and went to the touristy places in Hong Kong Island.
You seem to get better rates if you go through the hotel’s website. The staff were always ready and willing to help. If they were busy they always acknowledged you and let you know they won’t be long. The concierge was a wealth of knowledge even for little things.
Overall, I really like this place. I would definitely come back again.
