Sitting in Tsim Sha Tsui (TST) made this hotel a strategic place for tourist to explore the city and do some shopping. After travelling several times to HK, I found it is better to stay in Kowloon area rather than HK island, as the rate is lower and plenty more food option over there.
Location is good but it still takes some time & effort to get to the TST mtr station though, as it is not 'next door' kind of distance.
Plenty of restaurant around that area, so, very convenient in getting food. There is a convenience store (7-11) just opposite the hotel, and there is a supermarket (Welcome) about 100m away from the hotel, good place to stock some water and snacks. No free drinking water provided, but they do provide a electric kettle.

Besides MTR, try exploring the public bus too. There are plenty of buses running along Nathan Road and stop by Kimberley Rd, which is about 100m away from hotel. By taking those buses, you save some effort to walk around 10mins to reach hotel from MTR station.
Also, if you are taking airport express, you may take the free shuttle bus (K4) to reach the hotel (the bus stop just direct opposite!). However, for us who arrive on the first night of Chinese New Year, the bus service suspended (from 8pm-10pm) in view of the road closure for CNY parade.
The concierge provide very professional service in storing your luggage if you choose to keep the luggage with them after checking out, for FREE definitely.

Pro: Location, room is clean, free shuttle bus for arriving if you using airport express train
Con: No free wifi/internet provided, some facilities (hair dryer, fridge) are aged, cheap & bad quality pillow affects our sleep

So, if you in need of getting free internet access, walk along Kimberley Rd to the Nathan Road direction, the shopping mall (Miramar) at the junction provided free WIFI!!!
Another option: you may sign up the 24hr free wifi by PCCW, and use it near the 7-11 store.

The hotel is really conveniently situated in the heart of Tsim Sha Tsui. Rooms are generally a good size, but carpets are dirty and the accomodation would benefit from upgrading. There has been some work done already on lower floors though. Overall a good place to stay.

This hotel was good value for money. Wasn't the worst hotel but I would pay a little extra next time and get a better hotel.

My wife stayed at the Kiberley 10 years ago or so, an found it had hardly changed... that would explain a lot.
However, please do not be out off by the "not so" good reviews.
In Honk Gong you will be hard pushed to find a decent hotel within a "cheaper" price bracket.
Ok, when you arrive in your room you will notice the hotel is in need of a makeover.
The hotel takes you back to the 80s, however there is something endeering about it.
Check in and out couldn't have been smoother, proffesional and curtious.
Even the internet was of good service down in the lobby for 3 quid an hour.
Our room was 1229, and to be fair, in Hing Kong you don't expect to get a "view".
Hong Kong must be one of the most overcrowded citys, so common sense prevails that the room itself is of relative size.
The sleep quality is good, despite the hard matress, and the bathroom is small but clean and all facilities worked well.
Remember, if you have any problems raise it with the hotel staff, they will be only too pleased to assist.
The three nights we stayed we benefited from the location. It is prime!
We found 30 quid for a taxi from Airport was cheap.
The MTR extemly reliable, and the Star Ferry is inly a twenty minute walk.
The only annoying part are the sales guys who try and sell you watches, suits etc., they can be on the verge of rudeness and some of them sem to wait for you to either enter the hotel or exit it...
PS: We highly recommend a visit to the Peninsula Hotel to try they full/whole sized Peking Duck at 50 quid. Please dress smart as it is a 5 star hotel and booking/reservation is a must!
