“Grand and Luxurious”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 February 2012

I spent a night at the Grand Hyatt Hong Kong and was quite impressed with the hotel, their rooms, facilities and service.
Checking in and out was a breeze, and the front desk was quite helpful and pleasant. Also the rooms at this hotel are very well designed, using every inch to maximize comfort: the bed was super comfortable and had a great view of the IFC tower, and the arm chair offered a really relaxing place to unwind with a drink and watch some tv.
While the bathrobes were nice and soft and the June Jones bath products smell great, I wasn't too impressed with their slippers (maybe I'm the only person who looks at the quality of the slippers as an indicator of quality).
This hotel does have great location for business travelers as it's right near the Hong Kong Convention Center and the Wan Chai metro stop.
I didn't have a chance to try it, but apparently their Plateau Spa is also considered one of the best in Hong Kong.
Anyway, I'd recommend this hotel for business travelers or for anyone who's a part of a Hyatt rewards club. Luxury travelers can also consider it as an option, but they may want to stay in a smaller, more-intimate hotel.

“Excellent Hotel...but starting to show signs of age”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 February 2012

I stayed here for a week and very much enjoyed my stay. It is definitely a grand hotel, with spacious public areas and excellent staff. Rooms were smallish but very comfortable, though starting to age. The amazing harbour view I had made up for that.

What I liked:
- harbour view
- excellent service
- comfortable rooms
- use of facilities in neighbouring club (tennis etc)

What I didn't like:
- Rooms a litlte bit old. Parts of my taps in the bathroom kept falling off!
- No ipod player (well, at least not in my room)
- Lobby restaurant was very overpriced and had a terrible view of construction(which is not the hotel's fault)
- Location. It is nicely placed in between causeway bay and central but yet a bit inconveniently out of the way from anything unless you are having a conference. It is half way between two MTR stations though neither is that far or close. Thankfully its not a big deal as its a cheap taxi ride to Central.

“Quite possibly the most amazing hotel in the world!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 February 2012

I stayed here for a few nights for leisure last summer, and it was outstanding.

The Regency Club service, food, drinks, and views are TO DIE FOR. The spread was always plentiful, and the staff couldn't help fast enough. The food in the club was enough to eat for dinner, and the breakfast filled me up through lunch, so I barely ended up paying for any food. The staff was also very helpful in recommending places to see in the city.

The rooms themselves aren't huge by any standard, but perfectly adequate. I think the bathrooms are nearing the end of their lifespan for a hotel of this caliber, but I hardly spent any time there so it wasn't a deterrent for me. The room seemed to have everything I needed, including a power adapter (which Hyatt is good about), so no complaints there. I also liked the overall feel of the rooms and the corridors...cozy corridors but lots of windows in the room to create a light yet comfortable feel.

The pool and bar surrounding it were also a treat. To be at the pool, look up at skyscrapers, and out onto the harbor was quite nice. Additionally, the pool at night with the bar is spectacular, albeit expensive. I highly recommend checking it out.

Overall I fell in love with the hotel and the city alike. I actually had a stopover in Hong Kong this year on my way to Bali just in hopes of staying at the hotel. If you get the chance, STAY HERE!

Room Tip: Book a Regency Club room if you don't already have access, well worth it!

“Excellent service in a competitive hotel market”

Hong Kong offers numerous hotels at 4 to 5 star levels, but this 5-star hotel deserves its reputation and its constant near-full occupancy. The location is convenient to business travellers and vacationers alike. The building itself is quite old but most of the room have been refurbished in recent years. I particularly enjoyed the rooftop swimming pool, but was also impressed by the service of the staff.

I was working on my laptop computer at the cafe at the lobby while enjoying coffee and some cakes, but due to an urgent business matter I had to leave that table and attend to something at the business centre. The staff was kind enough to keep watch of my computer even though I had to be away for 15-20 minutes. It's a small thing but nonetheless this small kindness made my stay smoother and more pleasant.

Room Tip: Some refurbishment was still ongoing at the time of my stay. If you are going for a holiday or have...
