“Still good, and good value.”

Revisiting after some years I was a bit apprehensive after seeing some bad reviews. Luckily it was just like previous good visits and not like the bad reviews. I had great view from harbourview room and no problems at all. Rooms are small, but hey, this is Hong Kong. A visit to nearby zoo is recommended.
I just wish the staff would smile a bit more...they may be a bit bored, but we like what they do!

“Spectacular views, spotless rooms”

HK is a very expensive place so comparing the price of accommodation there to anywhere else in East, much less, Southeast Asia is a fool's game. Bishop Lei is well-priced for HK and if you spring for one of the double rooms overlooking the city, you will get one of the most spectacular urban views of your life. The zoo is below, you can hear the monkeys in the morning, and the Bank of China building buzzes and zigzags hypnotically until midnight. Service is solid, only slight bummer is the buffet breakfast which is on the unenthused side. Gym is basic but the treadmill works and you're steps from the midlevel escalators that take you into Central. Tip: laundry is much cheaper around the corner at one of the two drycleaners on Mosque road. And the shuttle is handy to get to either Central or Admiralty metros if you don't feel like the hill down.

Room Tip: Spring for a room looking out over the city. Views are amazing.

“Small but good value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 February 2012

Rooms are very small, barely any excess space to move around especially with suitcases larger than 24". However, rooms appear to have been refurnished in recent couple of years, and cleaning standards are meticulous. I have to add that room size is pretty standard in Hong Kong. Front desk staff is efficient but appears somewhat cold at first contact. Volume of guests checking in and out was constantly high could be the reason. They gradually warmed up and were friendly, but not instrusive. House keeping staff were similarly friendly.

Hotel provides an hourly shuttle to Central, IFC via Airport Express Station, Admirality MTR & HK Convention & Exhibition Center. Bus stop right outside hotel lobby has buses going to Admirality MTR, which is a short 5 mins ride away. A short 5 mins walk to the mid level escalators (turn right once outside the hotel lobby, down the lane between condominiums) takes you to Central in under 10 mins. Plenty of eateries along the way down, easy stroll to Lan Kwai Fong and Soho as well.

Overall, a pleasant stay for reasonable price. Will stay again.

“Hotels fine, Service isn't.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

Have been travelling S.E Asia for nearly 3 months now, this is the most expensive we have paid for a hotel at 550HK dollars & it is without a shadow of a doubt top of the list of the worst hotel for its service. Stayed in 4US dollar a room nights that have been better.
The staff at the desk are extremely rude and unhelpful. They enforce a 900HK dollar 'deposit' upon your arrival. This is the first time Ive heard of this anywhere. If you want to book a second day they will charge you another deposit for the second day! Not reccomended for the budget traveller or even a mid budget traveller but its a pity because its very close to mid level escalators.Other thn that the room is very small but comfortble.

Room Tip: Rooms are very small you will barely able to fit your bags in. The door will be knocked on a couple...

“Great location; well furnished; helpful staff”

Stayed in Hong Kong visiting family and found this place to be excellent, and very good value! It is not too far from the escalators that allow one pedestrian access to the CBD from the Mid Levels. Rooms are smallish, but well-equipped and of good quality. Some rooms have great views over Hong Kong. There is a small but pleasant outdoor pool. The restaurant is clean and has good quality food with polite staff. Check-in and check-out were efficient. We would highly recommend this hotel!
